This. Don't get me wrong, my Vertex 3 feels faster than my old 64GB C300 but it's not like a noticeable upgrade or anything. The only reason I got one is because I wanted more space.
Anyway, I was having a problem with the drive and my p8p67 where the PC would lock up and the hard disk light would stay on totally, the PC "worked" in that things like core temp...
Well installed and re-run benchmark and get the same results.
Any other ideas?
Matt
Just got mine up and running, according to HWmonitor its temperature is 120C.. I'm guessing that its not detecting it correctly, otherwise!

The drive doesn't bother reporting it properly, it appears to be just locked at that setting (128C) for everyone. Other apps and S.M.A.R.T. attribute viewing tools all show the same thing.
The difference seems to be about £100I need a 240GB SSD. I use my computer for work and Photoshop (probably the most intensive thing).
Am I going to notice the difference between a Vertex 3 above a Vertex 2 (or Crucial M4).
I'll be putting it in a 2011 Macbook Pro (on the 6gbps port).

Before you buy please note that the M4 has some issues in the MBP. I have the 256GB M4 and it does freeze occasionally. It's not enough to annoy me, you can see my thoughts and issues here:
