How come? I always thought returns to Amazon was just a case of going through the motions?

You can’t just click return and print you have to either connect to chat or phone call and they want you to contact Apple for advice before a return. It was a pain tbh first time with Amazon….

I can't even order a 12.9" from Amazon at the moment, keeps going around in an out of stock circle on both my phone and computer.

Out of interest do/did you have a 2018 or 2020 model? Just curious what your thoughts are on comparison between the screens.
It’s interesting that @Rimsy claims there is a negligible difference in day to day use.
I’d have no interest in watching films or the such on my iPad (HDR or not) - I have a TV for that.
So I do genuinely wonder would the Mini LED be wasted one someone such as myself who just browses the web and does some light photo editing.
In hindsight I wish I’d gone for the 2020 version if I could have got it at a good discounted price, but that being said there’s no doubting the 2021 is very good - just not as good as the hype suggested.
Perhaps iPad OS 15 will make it all that bit juicier but that remains to be seen.

That’s me got the magic keyboard set up now and wow, this is such high quality. Switching between personal apps / web browsing and windows VM for work is going to be a game changer for when I am out and about

I fully intended to pick up a 12.9” as my first ever tablet, however after messing around with them both have walked away with the 11”.

The screen on the 12.9 was very nice but for my use was not a big enough selling point and I really preferred the size / weight of the 11”.

Will see if I regret it in time.

Signed up for GitHub Codespaces Beta as well (should hopefully be approved shortly) as that seems like the best possible route for coding on the iPad Pro, will hopefully give it a spin this week and report back.

Ah thanks for this, I hadn’t heard of that before. Signed up as that would be ideal

I’m really unsure now about the Magic Keyboard. I had it delivered, but it’s still in the cellophane, unopened and unused. I’ve been using the cheap-o stand with the tablet in portrait mode, paired with the keyboard and trackpad that came with my iMac, and honestly, I can’t see the Magic Keyboard being any better.

This is certainly more comfortable as the keyboard and pad can be put where I want them, and more importantly so can the iPad.

Hmmm… think I may be returning it.

It will come at cost (not sure what that cost is yet) once it is out of preview but the ability to define dependencies for repo’s then be able to spin up a codespace to work on that repo with all the dependencies etc already installed as and when you want to use it is going to be insanely good, particularly for those just getting into software development.

Yeah sounds awesome, I’d happily pay for that

My new iPad Pro 12.9 256gb 5G fell off my laptop table this morning, it was in the Logitech Combo case although the kickstand must have slipped off the back of the table, iPad fell face down on the metal base of the laptop stand and smashed the screen (my first thought was dropping toast, butter always ends up face down!), tried to grab the case as it fell but obviously being attached with magnets it just came off and I was stuck holding the keyboard looking down at my iPad.

Luckily I took out apple care plus a week ago and booked an express replacement any experience with how long it takes to arrive ? They say up to 3 days is that accurate ? Thanks.

lol whilst typing this just had an email to say its shipped!
