I can see where you’re coming from. I’ve gone through plenty of Windows laptops in my time and honestly when I eventually switched to my MacBook the only regret I had was not doing it sooner. Compared to Windows laptops I too would prefer to use my iPad for sure.
I’ve found the MacBooks to be extremely well balanced and indeed have yet to encounter a Windows laptop that nails the one handed opening as well as Apple. That being said I gather the Magic Keyboard is ‘weighted’ so the balance is there for working on your lap which I can appreciate.

need windows for gaming though, although I’d happily do away with it if I preferred consoles to K&M

I still can't order the 1TB 12.9" Pro from Amazon, it gives me an error whether it be on my phone or a browser. Has anyone seen it for sale else at the Amazon price of £1,584.97 at all?

Exact same for me. If a console could run my racing sims at 1440p/165hz I’d replace my PC in a heartbeat.

Exactly the same here, it's been happening for the past week or so. It's frustrating as I'm happy to wait due to the (small) saving and it does tell you to order now and they'll dispatch when it's in stock.

I don’t really mind Windows - I switch between Win and OSX constantly, using both at both home and work, and kinda don’t have a strong preference. If I really had to choose, then OSX.

However, quite literally as my iPad was setting up, the screen on the XPS15 decided to die! I think it knew what’d just been unboxed in front of it! And that’s my main issue with Windows laptops - not Windows, but hardware.

@chrisd Just tried as a test - Space Grey results in the same error as you but Silver works. Go with Silver if you can tolerate it.

That might be an option. If John Lewis still have the old magic keyboard on sale the iPad would be housed in that 95% of the time so I don't think the colour will make much of a difference.

you could alway stick a sink on it, looks good with one.

I make all my idevice yellow.

How are folk finding the battery life on their new iPad Pro?

I seem to be getting 3 evenings out of my 12.9 after work, where my previous Pro 10.5 2017 was 2 evenings.

Well its been a week and so far very happy I plumped for the 11" instead of the 12.9" purely down to weight / size although still think that screen would be nice for Lightroom / Photoshop.

Basically bought this thing for general browsing and then also to see how Lightroom and Photoshop are now on a tablet, I have all my files running from a NAS and finding iOS folder system working just fine for importing / exporting from these apps so I can choose whether I edit on the iPad or my desktop. I am not finding it at all slow and really enjoying burning / dodging general fiddly adjustments using the pen over a mouse.

The only thing I don't like at the moment is a full history panel of changes for each image, I hope they add it in a future update (hope I am not being blind and missing it completely).

Definitely better than last year’s model BUT the one I own is over a year old now so its battery will be degraded compared to the new one.

Yes, yes I have.

A few months back, before I got my iPhone 12 Mini, I dropped my S10 and the tempered glass screen protector smash but the screen was fine. For piece of mind I am happy to have it on the iPad camera lenses.
