****The Official 7900 overclocking thread****

Gotta redo my sig

My Opti 170 @ 2.6Ghz
7900 GT @ 550 / 1600

9450 in 05

I think my system ram is holding me back, oh & my 7900 GT is set to high quality, will change that too. My system ram (2Gb Geil Value) is only at 345. I've upped the voltage to 2.9 now & upped the divider so its running at 434. After half an hour or so of memtest i'll be back to bench 05 again ;)
Then i'll be putting it in 1T & seeing if it works

What are people using to OC there 7900s?
I'm using Powerstrip.
I hear some people are using ATI Tool?

Which is best to use?

Yes im using ati tool, as coolbits wouldnt go high enough. Ati tool allows me to go to 550/1850 artifact free, max temp 52 :D
With a zalman vf900, of course :)

My score of 9770 seems to make sense now, looking at your score and rig.

9468 is what mine seems to max at, dont wanna clock my cpu higher (although it probably could) & I think my overclock on the 7900 GT is enough cos its past the settings coolbits allowed. I'm no risk taker lol :D

Might try again once my Zalman is fitted :p

Did the 1.4v guys:p

Detect optimal frequencies after mod:

(Before mod: 539/806)

And just to show you don't have to be an expert electrician to do this, heres a pic of my mod. All done by freehand as I couldnt get the masking tape to stick, I think you'll agree its not at all neat and my hands were shaking, but who cares it worked:D

Now for some proper clocking:cool:

I've only ran rthdribl for a few mins just to monitor temps, upto 43c load now from 39c load at default volts.

I didn't notice any sparklies but i'll run a 3DM06 test in a bit, need a sandwich:D

I'm just itching for mine to turn up so I can try these volt mods. I reckon this has to be one of the best 'something for nothing's since the X800pro extra pipeline unlocking. I've read of peeps getting as high as 700 core with the extra volts.

Ginga

Well 1600 is pushing it already with 1.4Ns but I will test further of course. The one thing that stopped me before was my clocks were stable in 3DMxx but would lock the system during CoD2, and being so I'm on CoD2 every night its more important that I get a solid clock rather than one thats right on the edge which could crash my system during a match.

I'll see if the core goes any higher though as coolbits detect optimal frequencies is sometimes 20-30mhz out. I've seen a couple of 660 core's with 1.4v

EDIT: whats the GTX std clocks, just so I know where I am?
