****The Official 7900 overclocking thread****

You did not hold onto the 79 gt very long.....lol, I was almost going to let mine go as well, but the more I played with it, the more impressed I have become, my findings are

Side on Gigabyte aurora, no side fans, 1x120mm pulling(rear) 1x120mm intake(front)

Dependant on Game 575/875 all stock, ran a couple hrs farcry 4x16,HQ,MS, did not miss a beat.

Benched at 585/922 same cooling as above 10115 no artifacts, that is about as far as the core will go on stock cooling, I have not found the limit on the memory, I actually think there is MORE in it, max gaming on stock, I think it will be around 575/580-900

There's some really nice results there. :)

Yeah TBH I would keep the card but as I have said the stock fan and a replacement was to much for me.

I have read the reviews abut the noise of the GTX and they have said its not really audible so lets hope that runs true. :)
 
Got my 'standard' 7900GT running at 545/800, which with my X2 [email protected] gives me ~9500 in 3dm05.

Running the core at 555 starts to give me occasional random black blobs/flashes in 3dmark, but there might be a bit left in the memory yet (just need to replace coolbits with something that lets me go higher!).

The fan on it is quite loud, but it does manage to keep the card at similar temps to my old 6800LE, and that had an Arctic cooler.

I might do at some point. Haveny had any problems fitting a couple of Arctics in the past, but i'm always a bit nervous about dismantling new gfx cards (esp when this this one was a lot more expensive than any i've bought in the past!).


Just done a few tests with 3DM06. At default i get 4520 3dmarks.
At 545/800 i get get 5303:
SM2.0 = 2185
SM3.0 = 2161
CPu = 1868

Always a bit unnerving but I just take my time and methodically do it. :p

Doubt I'll have it fully running till tuesday cos of work & going out for the weekend with the girlfriend though :(

No I have the window side panel to show off my lovely innards! :p
I have never had any issues with ambient temps even with a hefty overclock ( see Sig) there is enough room inside to swing a cat!

The cables all hide neatly away and the air flow inside is second to none. :)
 
Getting my 7900 GTX today, managed too convince work supplier too give it at a price which works out as a straight swap + £20 for my 7800, cant wait. Think its a BFG clocked at 675 something. Havent read up on these that much but i heard rumours of a slighty better IQ quality, any truth?
 
Well i received my Club 3D 7900 GTX card yeasterday.
Stock speeds 650/800. Used coolbits to OC.
the max that i have found is 694 for the core and 840 for the mem. So i went from 650/1600 to 694/1680 I had to say Im really dissapointed for the memory :( The 3dmark05 went from 9913 to 10073 =P That 160 points increase...
The rig is: 4400+@4800+ (220FSB) 2gigs of corsairs 3500LLPRO and the GPU as stated above. The drivers were 84.21 So any suggestions what to do whit card, how to get a "litle" more out of it. My goal at the start was 11000+ =P

CS:S 1280x1024 4xAA 16xAF = 167 FPS
CS:S 1600x1200 4xAA 16xAF = 158 FPS

There must be something wrong with your setup somewhere.
I got 9800 3d marks in 05 with a 7900 GT overclocked to 550/1640

And 11,500 with my asus 7900 GTX at stock.
