• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

** The Official 8800GT 512/256mb Review/Overclocking Thread **

My 3dMark score for my 8800GT (@676/975/1651) = 9442 - not good.

I'm not far off.

Just ran a test, CPU and GFX at stock, didn't quite manage 10,000, was 9,986 or close.

I was expecting a bit more than that.
It's the BFG OC model too, yet if I look at GPU-Z, it doesn't report it as being above normal clocks.

Only tried 3Dmark and the Lost Coast benchmark so far to test it was ok, and no artifacts, but so far am underwhelmed. With 16xAF and just 2x AA I was barely able to scrape 100fps in Lost Coast Stress Test, barely better than my GTO, and it stuttered like hell for the first 5 seconds or so.

That is strange.

I thought the OC model was supposed to be 625/1800?

What do the clock speeds say in Nvidia ntune? Could GPU-Z reading it wrong?

geeza why ask again?, it's clearly against the rules and you should know this. If you had any sense you would not ask against since 9+ people were suspended due to this.

Might be of some use, the reference clock steps. (Not mine, so I haven't checked them all)

It is against the rules, Spie doesn't pay for these forums so people can use it as a hub for passing around information about competitors.

Just out of interest, has anybody else got the BFG 8800GT OC?

Just wondering what their clocks are reported as, as standard?

V1N.

It is. Ive got the BFG OC one and its 625/1800 as reported by GPU-Z, also in the subvendor box mine says BFG, yours just says nvidia.

Did yours have a BFG sticker on the heatsink?

EDIT : Heres a pic of the GPU-Z readout on mine :

Amazing cards, fitted my Asus earlier, GTS in 06 got just over 9.4k, my GT gets just under 10.5k :D, Crysis bench, GTS got 35. summit, my GT (same settings) gets just under 47 , and its well quiet, only loud when yer first switch on and it runs full pelt for a couple of seconds. :D

Seems to have settled at 57 idle now, (GTS was anywhere from 53-61), and underload it got to about 72-74, which ws around same as my GTS, so its all good. :D

Are people who have wacked the clocks up happy with the stock cooler or thinking about upgrading the cooling?

I'm tempted by an S1 already, for £16 :)
