** The Official 8800GT 512/256mb Review/Overclocking Thread **

Oh my god, just tried Episode 2, 16xQSAA/16xAF with Supersampling, and it was ******* flying!!!! my GTS could only manage 2xAA with Super, anymore and it lagged a bit, what a cracker.:cool:

Better get used to that, 8/16xAA is the norm for most recent games, upcoming games may not get there but they will still perform good with some AA.

Post your mobo specs up, make sure the card is in the correct PCIE slot if your mobo has two.

It is an asus p5nsli, just read the following when checking the specs:

SLI
Under Single VGA mode (Default):
- 1 x PCI Express x16 graphics card on the first slot (blue)
- 1 x PCI Express x1 card on second slot (black)

Stupid me, i've got it installed in the black slot! I swear i'll be good at this mullarky one day!

Ive just found out that my board has 2 x16 slots but if your using SLI it can only give you x16 in one of them and x8 in the other. :(
Is that why?

I'm not using sli, i've just simply put it in the wrong slot. My mobo is the same, x16 in one and x8 in the other. SLI mode then works at 2x8 maintaining the x16 if that makes any sense?

mines shows @x2 on dfi sli-d:confused:

You've made the same mistake as me! Just found this from your mobos specs:

Single VGA mode
- 1 PCI Express graphics card on the PCIE1 slot will run at x16 bandwidth.
- The other PCI Express x16 slot (PCIE4) will run at x2 bandwidth.

well then im screwed, the chipset fan is in the way of the other slot as is the fan on the arctic freezer plus the dfi says this board is 2 x pci-e x16.....:confused::mad:

Just been playing Crysis for about an hr and my temp went to about 82 :D, but still it was silent, and i had zero lag at all, was well smooth, even when i ran into the camp guns a-blazing to get it all kicking off to see how it would cope, that was at 1280x1024 everything high, apart from Post Processing which i left on medium, and in XP, what a card, WHAT A CARD!!!.
