Unless you're running Vista it seems.![]()
interested in single vs. SLI performance in WIC if you could possibly have a quick go when you get back.![]()
In truth its not really an upgrade.
Especially at the higher resolutions.
Fact is people would rather have a loss of 3FPS and a gain of 100 quid in their pockets.
The gap between the GTX and GT is so small people are selling their GTX's while they can still get good money for them.
For the price one could sell a GTX for now you would not be far off the cost of GT's in SLI destroying the GTX by a huge margin.
So has anyone upgraded from a GTX to a GT? I remember quite a few people mentioning it - I just don't see the point.
Sorry guys...upgrade just came out automatically.
Also...sorry but why would someone even buy an 8800GTX is they were bothered about price? Obviously something better will be out a year down the line...
Ah well.
Anyways...when a card comes out 25-50% quicker than a GTX I'll get one.

It's a sidegrade, and the reason to do it is pretty simple...So has anyone upgraded from a GTX to a GT? I remember quite a few people mentioning it - I just don't see the point.
I have an aversion to SLI as it is, I think you just made my mind up for me.You will see no benifits of SLI in WIC, trust me on this
Both A F R 1 + 2 modes runs identical to having SLI disabled and F S F R is really bad (halves your frames).

My GTX was £300, and I can easily offload it for £250, someone has already expressed interest in having it for £265. With that money I can then buy an 8800GT for £180, and I already have one on pre-order, meaning I end up with the same performance and £70-85 back in my pocket.

According to the OcUK accounts system I bought it on September 22nd.A bit ripped off TBFH(kidding obviously).
How long did you have your GTX for?.
Post a screenie of your Crysis benchmark results.
Just got say it again, " I LOVE MY GT "played HL2E2 on my 2900xt and i would lag in open ares with 4xaa, on my GT i can run 16xQAA and not one stutter or any lag in site, its bloody amazing, all other games, UT3, COD4, TIME SHIFT play flawlessly at max settings, crysis ain't to hot in Vista but on XP its great, this is a wonder card from Nvidia and they deserve all the credit they are getting for it.

If the GT didn't come out it would've been a great buy, but unfortunately I bought it at the wrong time. I still have the GTX in my machine now, I've not sold it yet and I'm going to see how the GT is before I decide.
Who knows, I might end up keeping both if I feel like eating nothing but beans on toast for a while.![]()
Cheese?! This ain't the Ritz!LMAO go on, sell that GTX and get some cheese for your beans on toast![]()
It will sting if I keep both, but I really do like my GTX a lot and if I like both very much then I am willing to make sacrifices and stick one in my HTPC. That way I can play games in the living room as well.I really think you should keep the GT though. Unless you have a screen capable of 1920x1200+. My 2900 is going as soon as I can motivate myself (difficult task).

As for resolution, I swore I'd never go beyond 1680x1050. It'd get too expensive to keep up with then IMO and I'd probably have to go SLI as well.![]()
Take no notice of my last results, that was infact 1680x1050, all high except the Post Process was on Medium giving a big performance boost.
My Results at all high are quite dissapointing tbh I think most people get better than what I've got:
PostProcess medium-high has a difference of 10fps![]()
Suspicious files Will?????!!!!!!!!!. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. I thought you had stopped sending naked pics to teenage forums???.
Haha, its Nod32 thats not compatible with Google desktop, in short, It thinks good desktop is a Virus.
I'm now abit upset with my GT clocks.
So far I have concluded that 680Mhz is the max it goes without finding artifacts, now I dont think its the cooler since temps only got to 74 degrees, must be voltage, I hope some sort of Voltage mod comes out.
I'm gonna try push the memory and shaders.
