I upped the voltage to 1.15. I read somewhere that it does not make much/any difference past 1.1 though, but still went past that.

I might try 1.2 tonight and see whether or not it makes any difference. I imagine pushing 800 would be nice.

I could get it 3D06 stable at 885, but hangs in Crysis bench.

It wont, 1.1v is the highest VID. Any more needs a hard mod.
 
yes. Though Nibitor does not read the card bios in Vista 64-bit for me. So had to back up my bios using nvflash, and also used it for creating a new bios to be edited. I then had to edit the bios in Nibitor, then go back into nvflash to update it.

Nope, tried adding higher VID. Checked with a DMM, it doesn't move. May be a limit on the U501 PWM, VID 03 is 1.1v regardless of label. YMMV?

The hard mod is working well now the OVP has been figured out.

Note: If you've not flashed a graphics before, make a blind emergency flash disk. Saves a lot of grief :D

Not bad for air I don't think, I'm pretty sure I can push for higher too :)



EDIT: Anyone know why my score in 06 would go down even though my card is clocked higher than the last run?

How much of a difference is there?

You should expect +- variations.

Just had a quick blast with Rivatuner on my new GT.

700 core, 1750 shader and 979 mem.

50% constant fan speed, runs of 3dm06 see load temps getting up to around 70ish on the stock cooler.
 
Just got my new 8800gt today and done afew benchmarks..

Well 1st off was my old 2900xt @ stock with my cpu @ 3ghz

3D Mark 06 score was :10690

2nd was my new 8800gt @ stock, but ive now got my cpu @ 3.4ghz

3rd attempt with cpu @ 3.4 and my 8800gt was with the clocks of 700core/1750shader/2000memory

Just installed my POV 8800GT, havent really started playing around with it yet but have just run 3D Mark 06 so thought I'd share the results compared to my old 7900GS. The CPU and GPU's are at stock.

8800GT:

10,284
SM2.0 - 4897
SM3.0 - 4972
CPU - 2117

7900GS

4613
SM2.0 - 1814
SM3.0 - 1797
CPU - 2110

I would have thought I could get at least another 1,000 points by OC'ing the CPU but am rerally happy with the above result anyway.
 
Anyone here flashed their 8800gt bios with moded one ? I modded/flashed mine using nibitor/nvflash, changed vcore from 1.05 to 1.1, now getting 750/1875/2000. Before mod I was getting 700/1750/2000.

I thought that the bios flash didnt do anything and it needed a hardware mod?

Like jokester did.
