looks like a cool little gadget, if they made one with a bigger screen that fills the lid, for the same price, i'd have one.

can you even run windows xp on a flash disk? i always thought the swap file thing would kill it?
 
Hmmm Im interested - another gadget to add to the collection...

Looking at Wiki the OcUK one is the Eee PC 4G which seems to be $350, so UK pricing is not too bad at all really - any ideas when the 8/16Gb version will turn up? 4Gb is too small for Windows-Linux dual boot :p

I really don't get what you're finding hard?
1. Copy windows install CD onto SD card
2. Set the Card reader as the first boot drive in the BIOS
3. reboot
4.Install windows
5.profit
 
It seems the easiest way is to get an IDE/SATA to USB adapter and plug into into a CDROM then boot and install off that

And you have tried this and know it works?

As I said everyone says it's soooooooooooo easy but am yet to find evidence!

nope, but loads of people on the eeeuser.com forums have.

Even if nobody had done it why on earth wouldn't it work? All you need is a bootable drive with the windows cd on - if you're that worried buy a USB CD drive and then set the laptop to boot from USB - then you wouldn't even need to copy the files to memory stick!
 
what day can i expect to recieve my order do you think 13th or 14th as I will need be in or its a long drive to depo and back :(

Looks like a great piece of kit, and a good price.

But I can't help thinking that that screen is just too small in terms of resolution.

Not really wide enough for comfortable web browsing, and too small for Football Manager!
 
the more i see the mo I like, I have already got 3 people at work sold on the idea of these and they have put in pre-orders too :)
just got to get them to get quakeworld running on them all for some lunch time fun:)
