You need the spare space where the second PCIe connection would be which AFAIK the 900 doesnt have (or any after the 701 4G) since it is used for the secondary SSD.

Be nice to be wrong though...

does anyone know what is happening with the 900 battery issue.

i think Asus did say they was going to replace all the UK 44000mAh for 58000mAh for a delivery charge of £11.75 but i have not heard anything more on this.

any one have any ideas?

There was something about this on the register .... seemed to indicate that price had gone up to ~£17 (I think because they added delivery charge) + from comment from Asus person then they may have misjudged the numbers wanting to swap batteries (they talked about expecting only a handful of people to take up the offer ... probably the usual issue of confusing the number of people who really need the higher capacity battery with the number who want one if its available)

took the plunge and ordered a 1000H, reports of how poor the EEE SSDs are compared to "proper" SSDs put me off.... can upgrade to SSD or a faster HDD later.

The 1000 models have a larger keyboard (90 something % full size).

Plus the 1000 has a 10.2" screen (But the same res as the 901/900).

Evening EEE owners.

Looking to purchase one of these wonderful devices pretty soon but im just wondering how well they handle playing video (vlc etc) and how sophisticted the graphics drivers are. Can i clone/extend the display? Would i be able to comfortably watch videos outputted an lcd tv for instance?

any input would be greatly appreciated chaps.

Ah ha. Tempted more by the 1000 for the larger keyboard...but smaller = cooler.
