*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

10 Hour free trial and all I get when trying to play multiplayer of any sort is

"Connection to EA online timed out. Your network bandwidth and/or network latency may not meet the requirements for this game"

No issues at all with my 200mb virgin - play everything else with 20/30 ping etc - Can find no options to do anything.

Any one help?

Played a couple of rounds with the Turner SMLE on Saturday, really like this gun! The ROF is great and it's pretty easy to control the recoil at longer ranges too.

The game is much more enjoyable with a few friends in Discord, will try and get on for some games tonight if people are around.

I'm starting to get bored of some maps already though, feels a bit light on content.

In a game finally and it's 16 v 1......

Round started - no option to switch teams - stuck waiting on the round ending unless you leave the game..... No auto balance etc...

Is this really a live game or still Beta?

Revive action/animation is horribly buggy - people seem to revive and leap about 20 yards in the air at times.

I think I'd rather pay the same amount for a couple of new DLCs for BF4.

It's Betafield :D

I've played for a few hours and so far I'm enjoying it. Yes it's a bit rough round the edges and there is not a massive amount of content yet but I like the basics of the game. I've only subbed for a month so we will see if they have fixed bugs by then and there's a bit more news on when and how the new content will be delivered.

Very limited play so far:

Love the infantry mechanics, feels much more reliant on skill than bf1.
Not certain what DICE used the extra time for as it’s still buggy.
Some nice maps though a few feel very linear.
As with bf1 it is massively reliant on squad play for a good game.

One thing I would say is it feels very generic, no real sense of it been a WW2 game most of the time.

As I said very little play so far so still early days for me.

The towing mechanic is woeful, the churchill crocodile is like a farce waiting to happen with its flamethrower tank. Besides that callin its rare to see anyone even use the towing mechanic. On the other hand though, fortifications does seem to get used quite a bit, which is something most thought would be an unused gimmick.

Love the fortifications, in certain places they help a lot! Good idea IMO. But yeah, the towing mechanic... jesus christ.

I thought the customisation would bother me a lot more than it actually does to be honest. I don't know whether they have toned it down to what originally was planned but from what I've seen so far it all seems period and just variations of what soldiers would have worn.
