*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

This will probably be the first battlefield (hardline aside, as that doesn't count) I don't buy.

Fingers crossed Bad Company 3 can pull me back in, otherwise they've lost a dedicated soul from the very beginning.

Why are you not buying it?, I tried the beta too and it wasnt very good, only lasted a couple of hours until boredom set in but I was hoping the other modes etc might make it better. still on the fence wether to buy or not.

Politics. Especially Soderberg dragging his children into the narrative as to why women are in the game. It's just too much, I've had enough of it all invading my life.

Plus I bought BF1 and all the DLC when it came out and barely played it in the end. They're just not very good games anymore, or I'm getting old and not enjoying them the same, could be that.

This is what I'm going to do. Gives me enough time to form a solid opinion on it.
Exactly, and why preorder numbers are down. EA expected this but if someone stays subscribed for three months then they’ve made their profit. No doubt if it proves popular then release dates will be staggered accordingly to maximise subscriptions.

whats happening on the 9th?

Enter mankind’s greatest conflict on Xbox One, PlayStation®4, and PC. On November 9, play the full game with Origin Access Premier or try it as part of the EA Access and Origin Access Play First Trials***. Or, join the fight on November 15 with Battlefield V Deluxe Edition early enlister access, or November 20 with the Battlefield™ V Standard Edition.

I work a half day on a Friday, no doubt the servers will either be down or utter ****. They don't normally release until 11am so think I'll just work as normal.

My plan is to do my Saturday jobs Friday morning, giving me the afternoon/evening on Friday and more time on Saturday. I expect Friday morning will have server "issues".

Waste of a day off that. Anyone taking days off for the launch of a BF title must have a very short memory. Every past release has had major issues on launch day/week.

Hard to say if I'll be on at all....... instead I'll probably be too busy :

Cool I'll be on about 13:30 once I've had some lunch, we can stare at the menu screen and blank server lists together!

You want ice cream with your jelly? :p

I'm far from jelly. And I doubt you'll be able to afford any ice cream now anyway ;)

I'm doing just fine with apparently a crap GPU that still gives out well over 100fps at 1440p in most games. I don't need to spend 1500 quid on a card that gives me 20 more frames to lock me at 144fps in BFV :p:p 120fps, Ultra, 1440p and freesync is more than good enough.

Joking aside, I'm sure it's a beast of a card, but so was the 1080ti. She ain't worth nowhere near the money Nvidia are milking from gamers. 800 tops and even then that's disgraceful pricing for a GPU.

I could never justify spending £800 on a 1080Ti when they came out as my 1 year old SLI was working for me in BF, but I was determined to get off the low power SLI cycle at some point. The new card comfortably smashes my old SLI setup in everything, so I'm happy if poorer. I did make a few quid selling my 1070s though which softened the blow.
