***The Official Black Panther Thread ere***

So if anyone drinks Vibranium they'll have Black Panther powers?? Seemed to be only from the plants growing in that cave but it makes BP a bit lackluster if Billy nobody can become him....Open season for Vibranium plants?

From what I remember from the comics then it's only someone from the Royal Bloodline that are able to get the Black Panther powers from the Heart-shaped 'erb

You took a 4 year old to a 12A? :o

No such thing as a 12A over here (India), as a general rule of thumb every swear word gets muted unless its an 'A' (adult) movie.

Even the 'flipping the bird' scene got blurred out.

Watched this on Saturday in Imax 3d with my other half, we both really enjoyed it. Liked the African angle of the story and although it felt marvel it didn't have an America is the centre of the universe feel about it which makes a change. 7/10 film for us.

I guess ironically for some of the racist 4chan types the film actually depicts what they'd really like, states arranged along ethnic lines.

anyway, thought this was slightly amusing - certainly seems to be the case for some of the "critics" <Pic Removed>

How many critics actually gave the film 10/10? The last time I was on Rotten Tomatoes it had an average critic score of 8.2/10, which is about right IMO.

Has anyone mentioned the god awful CGI yet? especially the end fight scene... or do we only mention bad CGI when it's used to remove moustaches? lol

It was ok, Followed the usual Marvel formula with nothing ground breaking despite what the masses of critics would try and have you think. 6/10

Not sure what I thought of the film.. at times I liked it, but toward the end it started dragging and nothing really happened as such which felt a bit of a let down.

I'll reserve judgement for a second showing but initial rating puts it at 7/10.

Surprised Andy Serkhis was killed off tbh. I enjoyed his performance and would have liked to have seen him again.

Also, it makes you realise how short-changed Captain America was with his Vibranium shield considering the tech they were showing off in Wakanda.

Certainly not worth the hype it's being given. Which is not surprising when you consider the Black Panther isn't ' much of a Super hero by way of comparison to the others.

No Marvel film deserves to be in the top 50, never mind best ever. Madness. :o

It's getting stupid. Nearly every page in the movie and comic book section on Flipboard is gibbering on about the movie.

quite a few gave it full marks

None of the ones I regularly follow/listen to.

yet plenty of prominent publications did

anyway it is apparently the best movie of all time now... are you still going to try and dismiss the obvious virtue signalling/inflated reviews from the critics?

Only if you consider rotten tomatoes as any sort of metric for greatness, which I don't.

Metacritic has it at 88 by the way....

Son and I loved this film. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. I was expecting a power nap while he took in the film but I enjoyed it almost as much as Thor. I'd put it behind Thor and the first avengers film but next favourite for me with perhaps homecoming.

Excellent entertainment, 9/10.
