Don't think this is a fight AJ should've taken without another fight or two first.

He was way too reserved in his last fight and if he goes in to this fight with the same attitude, Whyte's likely to maul him, wear him down then stop him.
I think it's the perfect fight for AJ. He already has the spite in him for Dillian and it should (it's HW. anything can happen) be a relatively easy affair. AJ's best punch is the uppercut...Dillian has shown his kryptonite to be the uppercut - hence that weird cross guard he implemented against Franklin. It is literally his off button (AJ, Povetkin and Fury all finished him with an uppercut whilst Rivas dropped him with one)

Far too many peoplr writing Whyte off in this fight. I think they could be in for a shock. AJ is a shot fighter now.

And you think Whyte isn't shot? I love Whyte. I actually prefer him, as a personality, to AJ. But he has a lot of miles on the clock from actual bouts and all the countless rounds he goes sparring and the sparring stories in his gym sounds like they're serious all out spars. it all adds up. AJ is fresh compared as he hasn't really been in many 'wars'.

Propa bosh!
Haven't seen the video but Joyce's issue in that fight was Zhang was touching him up for fun.

Granted although he was like Pac-Man because he kept eating those shots and never went down. I’m backing Joyce to make the adjustments and wear Zhang down and stop him.

AJ V Whyte a fight 'slightly' less pointless than Fury V Chisora 3 only slightly though! One last cash out for Whyte before riding off into the sunset. Charging £27 PPV on DAZN for it is mega lols though! You'd get a top fight for £15-£20 back in the day, now a glorified tune up fight is £27.
I hope nobody buys AJ Whyte but I guess quite a few people will.

AJ always sells but I think I’ll pass. I have a Dazn subscription too and they still want me to pay £27 lol.
That's a joke. Although in theory no different to Sky.

I can (sort of) understand PPV for world title fight or one-offs (was the Mike Tyson exhibition fight a PPV?) but two people on the decline? Nah.

It’s all about economics and Dazn need to make money from not just AJ but boxing as a whole.
In fairness we want to watch boxing but who’s picking up the tab?

Well the tab for two people who aren't world champions should be a lot lower, and I hope it is. Both fighters aren't exactly poor going into the fight and neither is Hearn. I do appreciate it's a business. Maybe the PPV could be £10.

I agree but having a belt doesn’t always determine your economic worth. If Canelo vacated his belts tomorrow does his value drop? No.

Ultimately you have a choice to pay to watch or not. Dazn obviously think they can justify the price but it’s too high imo. £20 would be pushing it.

The reality is completely different to Sky though. Sky have a huge selection of premium sport that you get for your subscription and the majority of that money (and what drives 99% of subscribers) goes into PL football. DAZN UK do not have any other premium sport to offer and the only way their subscription service made sense to the viewer was if all the big fights were included within it, as they claimed to be the case when they launched.

Even the previous AJ fight which wasn't PPV was PPV in all but name. They jacked up the monthly subscription price to effectively make it a PPV fight unless you locked yourself into a year long subscription. All DAZN launching has done is make watching sport more expensive for 99% of viewers.

Not everyone wants other sport. For me to have a Sky Sports subscription will cost me a damn sight more than my Dazn subscription, I’ll still have to pay ppv on top of that too.

I’m disappointed at having pay ppv on top of subscription but I’m not going to cry about it. I’ll watch the fight anyway as I always do.

I’ll give the year ago and decide wether it offers me value for money, if it does I’ll renew if not I’ll leave.

I'll be buying it. I was tempted to go watch it but it was £70 for the nosebleed section and I'd rather just buy the PPV and watch from the comfort of my sofa.

Don't blame him for having a go at TalkSport. Gareth A Davies is a certified Fury nuthugger. Imagine if it was AJ as a world champion ducking a unification and trying to fight an MMA guy in an exhibition. He'd be crucified. Fury always gets a free pass.

Edit: Can we also just take a moment to appreciate how good Boots is? I've been saying for the longest, especially prior to Connor Henn popping dirty, that I wanted Benn to stop calling out old past it fighters and to call out Boots if he is really about that life. Benn would get completely washed by Boots and now, more than ever, I'd love to see it

I know which is why I said it's made it more expensive for 99% of viewers, not everybody. Those that are/were subscribing to Sky purely for the boxing are very much in the minority and maybe for them this does work out cheaper, although if they want to watch all boxing on TV it's more expensive for them too

But those subscribing to sky to maybe watch some boxing are no worse off. They still can do that. But they can’t watch everything and they never have been able to.
No matter what you get people won’t be happy especially when it comes to parting with money.

i have never paid for a PPV boxing match i always catch it the next day usually just some youtube vids.

how do they get away with charging so much for rubbish fights.

They are worse off. They're getting less and poorer quality content than before - whether they mind is another matter. And the issue isn't simply people not wanting to part with their money but facing having to pay £100-200 per year more for broadly the same content they had before (+ some freak show boxing that they have on DAZN), all while being spun ever changing lies from Hearn and co about how much better for fans it is.

I commented on the previous AJ fight in my post last night. I said it was PPV in all but name but it was actually worse imo. They dangled the carrot of AJ not being PPV so that enough gullible fools subscribed for the full year at £100-120, rather than pay the 1 month sub at £20. They've now got £100+ from somebody that probably would have only paid the £20 had they realised that they faced forking out another £27 to watch AJ's next fight and **** knows how much if and when he fights Wilder.

Fragmentation of sports rights, whether that's different sports or the rights for a single sport, makes it more expensive for fans no matter what Eddie Hearn tells you.
