Has anyone ever been undisputed at cruiser and heavy?

Usyk has to go down as one of the greats for sure. He's dismantled everyone, made Joshua look ordinary and should have had the KO against Fury in the 9th.

What a guy. He could retire now for sure, nothing to prove, no challenges left really.

Both AJ and Fury showed immense disrespect after losing, they really don't show British boxing in good light but then I guess if that's what it is, then that's what it is, no point in trying to paint these guys as decent people.

Edit - Remember "no man can beat me". That must mean Usyk is a God :p

I'm glad Usyk won. I had a bet on him. But winning via ko/tko.

I might have won the bet if the standing count was in the middle of the round and not the end.

I would be surprised if Fury doesn't take the rematch clause. Millions of £/$'s on the table, and a chance to win all the belts.
Even as someone who favoured Usyk slightly I remember reading your bet and shaking my head thinking, "nah, not the KO" but you were right!

Yes he is one of the best boxers of all time but i want him to make several title defences now

I would like to see him face these two :

Filip Hrgovic
Agit Kabayel

Can't see why Fury wouldn't take the rematch, he wasn't dominated and 'maybe' could turn it round but I guess that depends a lot how he takes this loss whether it galvanises him to want to avenge the defeat and maybe reignite his love for boxing or he goes into a big mental slump.

Usyk has nothing to prove and could happily walk away after the rematch, yes he could defend against x,y or z for all eternity but he has beaten all the peers of his generation and I don't see much point in going on and on until father time finally catches up with him. There is no real decent money fights left for him either bar a third fight with Joshua.

I'd rather see him retire undefeated and with all his faculties.
Why on earth would he fight either of those two. Even if he loses the IBF strap and Hrgovic win's it against Dubois that's not a fight that generates the money to make to worthwhile. Usyk should only fight for a shed ton of dough now and he should make the terms. He's always been the B side up until now and this is his time to either pack up earn a few more millions. A great fighter and a great man.

All this talk of retirement for both fighters. There is a contract and that contract says rematch which Fury said they will activate in October.

Only way retirement would work is if both choose not to activate the rematch.
There is not a chance that a fighter can be forced to fight if they choose to retire. The rematch clause will prevent Usyk (in this case) from refusing to fight Fury and fighting somebody else but if Usyk retires no clause can force him to fight Fury.

Are they mandatory? Those two should have to go through AJ, Fury or Parker first surely?
the king has said the winner of the two fights is going to fight AJ. Usyk may just retire though if he beats fury as hes beat AJ twice. so why risk everything again when hes already done it ? only answer money but he doesnt seem money mad. i wouldnt be surprised if he retires after next fury fight.

Surely it's the boxing association(s) who decide... I say, firmly with tongue in cheek

A thought that popped into my head.

Given that Fury was essentially KO'd, did AJ do a better job against Usyk? You have to say yes, surely?

I think I’d need to watch the fights back to back, but the first AJ Usyk was a right off.

Fury missed a lot last night. Was compubox used last night? I’d like to see the stats.

I'm thinking (perhaps with bias) that as AJ wasn't KO'd then he did a better job. I know it's not that simple though.

But Fury was falling about the ring like nobody's business. I still don't know how that wasn't called off, and no idea how he didn't crumble. Have to give him a lot of credit for that punch resistance.

Yeah it's a bit of a weird one.

AJ I never felt was winning or even had the measure of Usyk in both of his fights, you always felt Usyk was in control and could go up a gear, another 30 seconds in the first and he was in serious danger of getting stopped himself.

Fury, when he got into that rythem in the middle of the fight looked like he might have figured Usyk out a little and was causing serious issues, until he got his nose smashed.

On viewing the highlights again earlier though I've come around the the view that the fight should have been stopped in the ninth, he was completely gone, zero defense, eating big shots, likely one more away from being sparked out cold.

If the last few of his fights has changed something for me, it's how he would do against AJ, I think AJ would have him now. The gas tank isn't quite the same, the movement isn't as good, the elusiveness seems to be falling off and although he has insane powers of recovery, I think the actual punch resistance has to have taken damage now as well, even more so after last night.
