Hopefully they'll sort out the power differential between the turbo and n/a cars tho.

No, they just need to drop the NA engine all together. Stop holding on the the past. Its been 2 years of 'transition' and the old cars are still being given an advantage over the new ones. ToCA should be encouraging people to move to the turbo, not handicapping it just to keep a tiny minority happy.

Agreed, all in or not at all, ban non turbo's and move on. Seeing Plato moaning all the time because they backed the wrong horse is tiresome.

im hoping the teams kill NA themselves, tbh the NGTC packaged cars have looked pretty mighty at times and just need some bigger teams to bring the best out of them.

was i right in hearing they had 20+ engines to shift since now there going to ngtc? seems a bit mad to have that many engines if that was the case

Because it would make a complete mockery of there attitude this year. They chose not to go NGTC this year, and complained about it all year long. If they then just go NGTC anyway it just makes them look pathetic. Like they deliberately chose the option just so they could moan. I mean, what's changed that means they can now go NGTC that meant they couldn't do it last year?

Just pathetic.

Well can't they just say that as TOCA haven't restricted the NGTC cars enough for them they are changing to NGTC as well: if you can't beat em, join em, that kind of thing. I don't particularly support either honda or chevrolet to be honest but if they go with the same setup next year they may as well not enter.

But they knew that the S2000 engine would be slower than the NGTC, and they still chose to run it. That's the issue I've always had with them. It wasn't a situation they were forced into, it was a siuation they chose to be in.

If they change now, them they will have nearly ruined this season through there complaining for absolutely no reason.

For the sake of ToCA I hope a full NGTC spec car wins next year.

Source? The S2000 teams were promised parity.

The entire 2010 season.

It was well known the turbo was faster. The NGTC regulations even state that by design the cars will be faster than S2000 spec cars.

There is even footage from early in the year of the RML boss saying they knew they would be at a disadvantage.

If they change to NGTC now, then they will just look like idiots.

You can't really say that, the teams were promised performance parity. Would it be wrong of them to expect it?

Also, I don't think by going NGTC next year that RML have ruined anything, they are just following a natural progression. They have seen that parity can't be achieved, so they switch. Simples.

They've got to change for 2013 anyway. S2000 is no longer eligible.

The whole car is ineligible in 2013, they will have to build something new. They were just planning on not retro fitting an NGTC engine to the S2000 Cruze chassis.

The Honda's are also ineligible in 2013. Infact the whole Civic is, theres a 4.4m minimum length. If Honda fund a team it will likely be an Accord.

There's a new Civic for 2012. Team Dynamics have already announced they are developing an NGTC version and the first shell is nearly ready to build. The current Civic couldn't have been developed into an NGTC car anyway as it didn't meet the minimum length.

Cost reduction is the main aim of NGTC, gearboxes and electronics etc are all standardised. RML will be able to develop the existing Cruze shell to take the standard NGTC parts.

Honda are making an NGTC Civic? How will that work? Unless they are using the saloon?

Or is the new Civic hatch considerably longer than the current model?
