**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

That Vowney looks fully loaded!!

Making me doubt my decision to want a Xplay now.

Gone off the Xstyle now to :)

When's the vowney out? Says may for the mediatek version

There was two versions so I gather. One was with a Intel chip and the other with the mediate. The intel one got dropped.

If I could find reliable place to pre-order for the 25th I would.

Anyone been looking at the Lenovo Vibe Shot? Looks lovely with a metal casing, 800 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600 MHz LTE, Quallcom SoC instead of possibly-dodgy-GPS MediaTek etc. etc!

Looks like they're around ~£230 notes from HK on the 'bay, I'm very tempted![/QUOTE]

Generally the 6xx snapdragon is midrange. You need an 8xx really.

Someone in her office recently bought a low cost Chinese phone and now the misses is going on and on about getting one to replace her broken S3.

Having searched through loads they all seem to have huge 5.5" screens, which are no good for small hands, it just encourages her to drop it.

Can anyone recommend a Chinese phone with the following specs:

Less than 5"
Good quality rear camera
Good battery life
Relatively snappy (her complaint of the S3 is it's dog slow - which it is, mine is too)
Dual sim
<£150

I've done that mine, it's still terrible. Like taking a second to bring up the phone up, or freezing while loading a webpage but trying to cancel and type in another address.

The GF phone is even worse. It's ok after a factory reset, but within a week it constantly crashed and boots her out of apps. Only apps are barclays, whatsapp, instagram, and facebook.

That's truly a budget phone compared to the S3. Might have to go up to 5.0" (certainly no larger) and the Xiomi mi4i.

From what I've seen someone in this thread has one, though he hasn't said too much about it.

It doesn't look bad.

I would say it doesn't have wifi ac if you care about that, and I think some have been complaining about the mediatek chip GPS performance. This phone only has GPS and not the Russian or chinese systems. The latter is useless to you here, but the Russian Glonass can be handy.

More importantly it covers all the UK LTE bands so you can enjoy 4G (well apart from EE's 1.9ghz, but EE use others too)

EDIT: that website is weird. It lists colour, but there is no indication of which colour you've actually selected.

Elephone abandon their phones shortly after release.

Don't expect much in the way of android updates after the first few months. At least that was my experience with the P6000 which was released in December and abandoned in early summer.

P7000 and P8000 will be abandoned too in a few months.

That is the chinese phone model. New phone every few months... no support though.
