**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

Any recommendations for a cheap, smallish, Chinese phone for my wife. Doesn't have to be anything special as she is prone to losing them, dropping them on the floor, dropping them down the toilet, etc.

Less than £100 if possible.

Hey scrivz69 think I'm going to get it from that seller too, I am going to add DHL delivery too. How long did yours take to arrive? Did you have to pay tax?

Oh and is it the 2.2Ghz or 2.0Ghz version?

One last question does 4G work on it?

Mine took 13 days to arrive it was shipped via NL post that was free even though the site says it's shipped via Singapore post and the tracking number does not work on the SP website but does on NLpost and 17 Track.

No tax at all and I got the 2.0Ghz version and 4G on 3 works fine and I think it works on EE as well but no others I might be wrong. You can check your details here

The rom on the phone was MIUI 6 with a few crappy apps that I could not get rid of but had the play store installed and worked, you can soon flash the Chinese MIUI that comes with the English on it and then flash Gapps, a few guides on the forum. Hope this helps. Also a global version is due out soon.

Have a look at the Doogee Y100 pro.

That's worth considering too. At the moment it's between the M2, Redmi 2 and Y100. I got excited reading about the Doogee F5 (http://www.geeksnack.com/2015/09/06/doogee-f5-launched-with-140-price-tag/) but realised it's a 5.5" phablet sized phone...

Doesn't look that different to other phones in the same price range. The Chinese mobile market has become very saturated, there's not much different in the wide variety of phones.

I went with the Meizu M2 from oppomart. I'm slightly concerned that 4G won't work with SFR network due to it being a chinese rather than international version (I assume). Customer support told me it would but I'll have the wait and see.

I would have purchased the m2 note from Amazon personally as if there was any problem they'd deal with it.

If the phone is FDD it should work with your 4g though.
