**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

hey,
been looking for a new phone recently,
but nothing surprised me, except the force touch technology in huawei and apple and curved display, but they are too expensive for me :(
so i thought to hold on for next year till more phones adopt it and becomes cheaper:), but i need something now to ditch my blackberry 8520, and yes i still have one of those

what are your thoughts for a cheap phone under £80? cheaper the better, as it only meant to last a year/ one and half year

what chinese retailers do you recommend as well?
i looked at gearbest, but most reviews show that they fake reviews, and giztop doesnt have any, plus efox has low reviews:(

ps: dual sim is a plus, but i can survive with a single for year if it needs to be

If you wait a month, all the new phones have finger print login. But not for that cheap.

Edit - never mind just read up what it actually is.

I've just ordered a Meizu M2 (also known as the M2 mini) - http://www.oppomart.com/phones/meizu-m2.html

A few people on here, me included, have gone for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 - http://www.oppomart.com/xiaomi/redmi-note2/xiaomi-redmi-note-2.html

Amazing for the price.

Read back a few pages as some people posted their thoughts on it.

You can also look on this website for some lesser known brands - http://www.kimovil.com/en/

I went for the M2 for the wife as it's a bit smaller, she didn't want a note style 'phablet' and I went for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 because it's a great spec for the money, especially after having a shi7ty Blackberry for the last few years.

You said budget as the main factor so I'd forget the prime Xiaomi and look at these 2 - http://www.kimovil.com/en/compare/meizu-m2-note-16gb,xiaomi-redmi-note-2-2gb-16gb - unless you want the smaller M2.

seeing oppomart, the total, with redmi 16gb+ shipping comes with £120 :( any other websites to buy it from?

Is cyanogenmod available fore redmi note 2?
Has cyanogenmod got the integrated Microsoft Cortana in it yet? As I read an article saying they're going to incorporate it into the OS so it can do much more.

Do you have to root to install stuff like this? As I understand it, if rooted Now TV app wont work.

Mine seems to be in France now.
Edit - actually just scanned into auk. AO should get it Monday.
Also ordered a magnetic USB cable for it, hopefully that fits on.

Dpd is by far the best, change delivery date online, map of where driver is and 1hr window of delivery.

Thanks for the link.

It's showing my phone should be 4G ready but I tried to test it with a recent PAYG EE sim from my wife and does not show as 4g :(

Should the EE sim be 4G ready or need activation?

Phone is LG F240K - Band 3 and 8. I 've tried selecting from the service menu (was on automatic)

Check on the EE site if your area is covered.

Managed to get it working and shows as LTE :D

I noticed it was still showing as T-mob so I went into the network menu to untick auto network and did a manual search and it work, and since then the auto option worked since then.

I've soft bricked my phone while trying out a custom ROM. I need to download fastboot recovery to get the images for reflashing to stock. However, the speeds are ****ing awful, or the archive I need fails to download. Can someone go here and try downloading the "Redmi 2 Latest Stable Version Fastboot File Download" file (it's at the very bottom of step 2). Just to confirm that it's ****** server speed / connection and not just me?
