**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

Depends on the seller if you look on the page it should say seller dispatches within so many days.

Just says estimated delivery based on shipping options. I would these times varies from country to country.

Anyway, I decided to cancel the order as the store was unresponsive to my questions.

My order for 27p is already half way around the world.

I got my Mi 9T from a seller on ebay delivery took around 11 days think the current price is £304 for the 128GB Pro version.

I'm after the 9T version as I don't really need the extra features with the Pro. The saving will go towards my next phone.

I'm just anxious to get my phone before Brexit actually happens (if) at the end of this month.

I was going to do the same but the price difference became so low i just went for the SD 855 version.
I got mine for £288 with a 10% ebay off code.
Think the seller sells the SD730 version for £260.

I may well do the same as you. It comes down to bang per buck. I will go for the Pro if the price differential is as low as yours. In the meantime, my target price for the Mi 9t 128gb is around £240.

Why not give eGlobalCentral a go, I think the 128GB version is around £260 at the moment - the 64GB being around £240. If I decide to bite the bullet, this site will probably be my first point of call after hearing mostly positive things about them & the overall turnaround being no longer than 14 days to get the phone.

Another website I've used in the past who are similar but provide excellent communication are WondaMobile, sadly though they are a lot more expensive now depending what phone you go for.

I also considered AliExpress like you did but there's no way I'm waiting 4+ weeks for my order to arrive.

Liam.

The Trustpilot reviews reviews for eGlobalCentral hasn't inspired me. Also, it seems Hermes is their courier choice. I see Hermes as the equivalent of Yodel. I can't stand Yodel after one of their drivers threw my Amazon order, containing a router, over a 9 foot wall into my back garden. Don't have a problem with Amazon as I've not ordered from them in seven years.

Further update: seller on Aliexpress refused to cancel order unless I change the reason from 'out of stock' to 'other'. This reeks of corruption. Aliexpress customer service have limited options to deal with this seller.

Not happy but this may be a blessing in disguise if I opt for the Pro version for a few more pounds.

Fingers crossed you'll obtain your refund without much more agro. Another reason why I wouldn't order from AliExpress is because of the horror stories I've read up where people have had trouble getting refunds back despite paying on a credit card and something in the small print with how Section 75 works and how Section 75 only covers you if you paid for the item that is for sale directly from a retailer. The trouble with AliExpress is that even though they advertise the phones, they merely only operate as an agent on behalf of individual sellers who actually sell the goods, a bit like how eBay works - and as a result the Section 75 case in this instance becomes complex to complete.

Hopefully, Liam, a chargeback is suffice.

What a week.

My mobile phone network was down since Wednesday so I wasn't in a position to contact my bank for a chargeback.

Anyway, good news. After numerous complaints, early this morning Aliexpress has now cancelled the order and a refund is on its way to me. My mobile phone signal was back up shortly after reading the Aliexpress email.

I think the lesson learnt is make sure seller has phone in stock. Aliexpress first line customer service is good but the escalation team was disappointing with their copy and paste answers.

Good news, that must be re-assuring.

I've been keeping an eye for the Mi 9T on eBay and as it stands, new ones still go for a minimum of £260.00... other used / nearly new examples are still up for £280.00+ which is laughable. I suppose though due to the high fees, they have to make it justifiable.

I may sit it out until Black Friday comes along, I reckon the Mi 9T may come down to around the £210.00 mark.

Liam.

Ebay currently have a £25 off £250 spend just now,basically 10% off again so you might be able to pick something up.
Code is PYRAMID.

Just checked the seller i got mine from price is down to £279 for the 128gb Pro version.

Think I'm going to grab a Realme X2 when they go on sale next week. Initially I was going to go for the X2 Pro, but to be honest the 855+, 90Hz and a few other things would be overkill for what I use my phone for (calls, messages, photos and apps) so I'd rather save the £130 or so and put it to better use. Plus, I only listen to music when I'm out via earphones, so I won't be missing anything by not having the stereo speakers (besides, I can't stand those ***** who walk around with music playing from their phones).

It is rumoured that Xiaomi may release the Mi Note 10 with a Snapdragon 865 at the end of the month. An almost bezel-less 6.5 inch screen. However, there has been no official announcements from Xiaomi. Perhaps the Aliexpress incident was a blessing in disguise.

@LEK-89

I consider the whole Black Friday as another fake sale concept. The items aren't necessarily cheaper if you are good at hunting deals at other times of the year. I suspect there's been an increase in Mi 9T prices in order to give an over-inflated price cut for Black Friday.

Good luck in getting Mi 9T at your target price. Seems possible.

@silverblack

Very useful info. Tempted to pull the trigger. However, there was a lack of options for my phone of choice. They were either overpriced compared to other sources or didn't have the right colour.
