***The Official Conroe Overclocking Thread ***

ive got a little prob with my E6300 clocking escapades...
intel 975xbx settings at
FSB @ 1333
fsb voltage @ max
mch voltage @ max
cpu burn in @ 37%
cpu volts @ 1.5875
ram @ 533mhz 5-4-4-14 1:1 2.2v

windows and 3dmark06 read the cpu as 3.2ghz but cpu-z reads it @ 2.7ish
it then crashes as soon as i try and run 3dmark... the volts seem abit high i reckon but its the only way it will boot... any thoughts how to get it abit more stable?

Sorry to crash the OC thread but you guys seem best suited to ask.

Intel Core 2 DUO E6400 "LGA775 Allendale" 2.13GHz (1066FSB) - OEM £139.95
Gigabyte GA_965P_DS4 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard £104.95
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-5400 TwinX (2x1GB) £111.95

Is the ram upto the job?

What are people getting with the 6700 and the 10x multi?

I want 4ghz 24/7 :)
I've got 3.6Ghz so far on 1.4v vCore (1.38v actual), with nothing else changed on an E6700. This is on air cooling with an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, using the stock thermal compound.

The above has been dual Prime stable for 8 hours so far.

I think 4Ghz 24/7 will be difficult on air to be honest.

hmm, well hook that vapo up then (in your sig ;))

Got the DS4 today, here is my overclock so far.

Its stable through 3dmark01!!!my ds3 never did that but it was faulty.

Priming now, 34 mins stable gonna do it for 5 hours or so.
got +0.2v overvolt on the ram

Doing Orthos for 2h 5 mins now and things seem fine :) What are the chances i will get a failure in the next 3 hours? Should i bother continuing priming?

Argh! I think i spoke to soon. I got a blue screen and my firefox kept crashing. I just did a new install of windows so now i hope it is smooth.

Every game i try playing crashes :/

Got mine running at 2.5GHz now, 358FSB, Ram at around 800MHz, on 4-4-4-12 timings.

8 hours prime stable overnight, with only a nudge up in voltage, CPUZ reporting it as 1.328V, got a B2 stepping chip.

EDIT was at about 48 to 50 at load, depending on core. might see how much I can further it with these settings.

on the F4e bios.

Slightly OT, but i thought it was the best place to ask. Is there any agreement on what is a good CPU/MB/Ram combo? My 6600 is sitting next to me and i want to build the PC this week :D

Can anyone give me some good starting points for getting my E6600 and P5W DH to 3.6 using watercooling. Not having much luck :(.

I know that you should disable Hyperpath 3 set PCIE Freq - 101 and PCI clock sync - 33 but can anyone give me some more jumperfree settings that have worked well? Should I leave SPD timings enabled? Anything else that helps, what are safe voltages for my RAM and CPU?

I know the basics of overclocking but this board isn't giving me much help .

Thanks for any help!

Yeah saw that but I need some of the jumperfree settings details like what are the best ram freqs to use and what about voltages?

Thanks!

Mine need around 1.475v for 3.6ghz.

Although I run 3.8ghz @ 1.55v with water.

What ram are you using?
