Nice! At least you'll get to grips with it then. I'll be lucky if I've spent more than 3 hours in front of mine since getting it weeks ago although I can't wait to use it more. The colours are stunning.

Yeah i previously pre-ordered the Curved samsung LS34E790C after my failed 2 purchases of the non curved LG34UM-95, only to read a couple of reviews about the samsung on another site where they got slated for not being as sharp as the LG and the colours were supposed to be washed out....even seen the pics of the LG34UM-95 next to the new sammy with the txt not being as sharp as the LG.

This lead me to the Dell as my only hope for a decent super widescreen Monitor, and i havent heard a bad word yet. ;)

You noticed any bleed on yours in the corners DJ_Switch?

Forgive the photo. I just took it on my phone as I don't have lightroom installed yet for my camera. It will show you what it roughly looks like for me. There is a tiny amount of backlight bleed although it's not bad at all and you'd really struggle to see it outwith a black screen in a dark room as I've just done for the photo. It's not something that I even noticed until I looked for it in the test image. I do have a small amount of ips glow in the bottom left corner although again it's not too bad and it's also not present anywhere else on the monitor.

That looks totally fine. I'd be happy if mine arrives and is the same. Just a shame about all the delays at the moment. The in stock date seems to keep slipping which is kind of odd seeing as some people, like yourself, have already had theirs for a while now.

I don't know what they're playing at with the shipping dates either as my dates were all over the place as well....thankfully it arrived earlier than they quoted after I'd ordered it though. You may also be fortunate. ;)

Omg!!!.....i would be well happy with that..... thanks for posting those pics....puts my mind at ease. :)

Heres pics of the x2 LG34UM-95s i have just sent back.

These were took in the daytime btw, with a fast shutter speed to emulate exactly what i it looked like to the human eye.

As you can see these were really bad. :(

Those examples are pretty bad and were the type of pictures I was seeing a lot of that screen. I wanted it so badly I was almost willing to just take my chances but eventually decided to just hold out as the LG screens weren't even showing signs of later batches being better. I'm glad I held out for this. The stand alone was worth the extra wait although I can't complain about the panel I've got here. There is a bit of glow but only in the bottom left corner and it just depends where I'm sitting. I get the impression that the curve is actually helping reduce the ips glow in the corner due to the angle though.

Fingers crossed you both get good examples as well. From what I've seen of this and a few others recently it looks like you've got a good chance of getting a good screen....as you should at this price.

Do you guys know why this one costs so much less than all the others, almost like a flat one? Same panel as the 34UC97 afaik, costing like if not less than the flat version.

Basic supply/demand economics. I'd guess that up until now LG has had the only 21:9 curved 3440x1440 panel and figured they could happily charge a premium for it as there wasn't any competition.

Samsung have also released their 34" 21:9 screen so with that and the Dell version on the market once availability is more widespread I expect we'll see LG drop their prices pretty quickly to match Samsung and Dell. I think Phillips have a curved 34" panel coming out as well.

The curved LG is nearly £1000 and apparently the Dell uses the same panel?
I nearly bought the new samsung until i read a couple of owners reports.

I will find out tomorrow what the Dell is like.

Yeah I don't know if it's forbidden or not by the forum rules but in EU (not uk) you can find the Dell for 650/700€ which is by the way the price I consider correct for these guys. Problem is: I don't know how long will it take for all the competitors to level up (down) to that level and the flat ones to adjust as well around 500€ or 400£, which again is their correct pricing imho. So the question about the dell being at that price today is kinda unaswered for me, especially since it's Dell, not Crossover/Yamakasi/Qnix..... (oh how I'd love to see a 21:9 from those brands!!)

Just Sold my Qnix the other week....they are just faulty sammy panels wrapped in a cheap bezel and stand ....amazing for the price....but i love the super widescreen jobbys. :)

Just wow! I don't think I've ever seen such terrible, terrible backlight bleed and clouding. I can tell from your images (especially the one with the hand in it) that it's not over exaggerated like many often are or too over exposed. How can LG release expensive monitors in this state?
From what I've seen on these forums I won't ever go near an LG made monitor ever. I now their panels are good, and used in Dells, but what is going on!?

These are dark days indeed for monitors. I think in years to come, once it is eventually resolved, we will look back on this period with disgust. It is truly unforgivable and inexcusable in my opinion that a hugely successful international company such as LG is manufacturing products like this, never mind actually SELLING them!

Yeah they are just taking the mick now with some of these panels....and the prices are way over the top for what they are......then theres 4k monitors which you need x2 decent graphics cards and a gaming pc just for it to look decent......i mean has anyone actually seen a graphics card with the cooler taken off? It is basically normally a couple of fans stuck onto a badly soldered bunch of cooling pipes and bolted onto a small radio sized circuit board....oh hang on....lets use the term "Miltary components"
They having a laugh......i just wanna be able to play games not actually kill anyone?

Then theres the reviewers who use words like sexy thin bezels and gorgeous looking cooler and fans.....seriously?

Most of the time the gpu is stuck in your case out of site with the fans facing downwards and all you can see is the horrible printed circuit board staring at you.....oooo unless you get one with a sexy backplate....but if you dont they will have you pants down and sell you one after you have just forked out £500 for their graphics card that still doesnt play cod AW with settings full up lol.

Sorry for the rant.....it was Legends fault. :p

You make some interesting points, but ultimately they only keep doing it because we keep paying for it lol! It would take some sort of en-mass protest and refusal to buy for things to change for the better. And I can't see that happening.
