:D
AOC are gonna shake up the UW market with their offering, said to be around the £550 mark. Dell & LG better make money while they can :D

AOC can't even get the flat one to market, so much hope for the curved, will be waiting a good while yet. :(

IIRC LG made the IPS panels for Dells 1440 displays back in 2010 (Apple too)

Remember the hoohah about the bad glow on the first batch of U2711's back in mid 2010? People had paid over £1000 for these things as early adopters and they were not happy. A total Shiitestorm ensued at the time. Glow was just not acceptable at that price and rightly so.

Fair play to Dell. They sorted it and anything over Rev 04 from December 2010 onwards was good. Really good (I say this because I've had an 04 for nearly 4 years and it's been an utterly superb and totally faultless screen)

Anyway. This curvy screen stuff is really nice and I have this horribly annoying itch that needs scratching, but, if LG are still Dells panel provider? then I think I'm just gonna sit on the fence and watch. It has to be black. Nothing else will do.

Discovered some interesting new photos of this monitor... I'm eagerly awaiting price point and release date!! Good to know there's another curved option on the way, and it should be priced less than LG's offering given I can see no mention of Thunderbolt, which no doubt bumps up the price of the LG.

I have read it will be available in China from November, and other markets from December. Here's hoping!

:D

Me want. Am going to be looking to upgrade my monitor from a 27 incher next year and this is definitely a contender.

Thanks, so does this mean that the Sansung S34E790C with its VA panel is likely to be the pick of the bunch for gaming?

Not necessarily. It depends what you're after in your gaming experience and your own sensitivities. VA panels are significantly less responsive in some pixel transitions (gives a sort of extended and at times 'smeary' trailing during motion) than IPS. They can't match the colour consistency either as colours typically become less saturated towards the edges. The contrast is their main attraction, but I won't downplay how crucial that is for some users.
