I was fully expecting far worse after seeing the first pic.

If a courier gave me a parcel that looked like that for something of that value I'd think twice before signing for it.

Any thoughts on support from games for this resolution? Do they tend to support OK these days or do you end up having to scale/use black bars? I'm thinking primarily of relative modern games like Total War 2 Rome, BF4, etc rather than older games which could struggle I guess with support. I'm in 1440p at the moment but would like the additional width although not if it's going to give me hassle with stuff not really supporting 21:9 properly.

Any thoughts?

Hope this is out next week, I want one before Xmas!
Yep, me too although I have a slight reservation around getting the "first" of Dell monitors. They tend to be excellent in general although historically I've noticed the early revisions get superseded quite quickly sometimes with updates ironing out small problems with A02, 3, 4 revisions... Life on the bleeding edge *sigh*

Have read and heard good things about Flawless Widescreen.

"Flawless Widescreen was created in an effort to make it easier to craft fixes and patches to get games functioning correctly in UltraWide/Surround/Eyefinity gaming resolutions, often developers neglect these types of users leaving them to fend for themselves and find their own solutions, or in some unfortunate cases - live without the wonderful world of ultra-wide support.

With simplicity in mind, designed to be as simple as possible to use - simply select a supported game from the list, configure any basic desired configurable options and launch your game."

After looking on the Dell UK site and doing a search it seems as if these will be much easier for the end user to perform firmware updates. As for hardware revisions we can only wait and see. I'd have thought the 3 years warranty Dell offer would cover excessive glow or light bleed but really I don't know for sure, I have only ever used Dell's CS in regards to a dodgy laptop. I'm thinking of jumping from a A10 revision U2410 to this if I can free up some spare cash. Still waiting to see the price when it launches here in the UK.

A lot of modern games do offer support for the 21:9AR although some do require a few tweaks, as Bluntwrapped said Flawless Widescreen is a great tool.

Check out AWPC's 21:9 game thread for a better idea of games that need tweaking http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18607905
