Right Curved question.
The screen is big and wide... so if your sitting up close it does aid you in seeing everything. You don't actually notice the curve when in front of the unit.

Ports:
Unit comes come MiniDisplay port and Display port, HDMI, USB 3.0 inputs.

Software:
Unit has nice software that allows you you to snap apps in to sections on the monitor... so it simulates that you have a dual display for instance.

Firmware:
I also believe it states somewhere that the firmware can be upgraded although not tried... and nothing is out yet.

Built in speakers:
Built in speakers... although rated at 9 watts each they are OK for general use. I still end up plugging my Bose 5.1 as the sound is much better. (No Brainier really) but the internal speakers are OK.

Use:
After a couple of days playing with it... If you don't already have a triple screen setup it's great! Although I am still finding my triple Dell u2415 more immersive for Elite or Sim's in general, perhaps because of the more real estate.

I know Windows 7/8 has builit in snap to half screen functionality so you can put 2 apps tiled next to each other on the display. I've tended not to use this much in the past as I had dual displays and I never felt a 1920x1080p monitor was really large enough to actually tile 2 windows usably on it.

Can the software let you split the monitor in to 3 1146x1440 sections as I think that would be pretty handy for productivity. Also is there anyway to actually simulate dual display functionality so you can say full-screen maximize a Youtube/Netflix video on one half of the display and a web browser on the other?

Your lucky if you got it at that price my Premium account did not provide me that good a deal!

Had to do a lot of bargaining to get my deal via normal channels... Although I was told I was the first customer for this monitor... in the UK... so must have had some luck.

How does one get a Premier account through your company? I can't see any info on the Dell site about this. Do you have to spend a certain amount in a year or something?

After weeks of thinking and waiting for this I have just ordered one. I don't suppose I can really talk about it but the price was below £630 and I couldn't resist. Ho ho ho Merry Christmas to me :)

I have "discussed" this with them a few times now and no one is willing to go below 10%. What am I missing? If it's a business or premier account then I can rest easy knowing there's no room to argue but if it's something else please do share. This will make all the difference between a mild ticking off from the pregnant wife to being outright throttled. I'm not kidding about the last part either.lol

I had planned to wait for the AOC 34 and £650 was what I had budgeted for a new monitor as part of this new build I'm about to buy. I'm genuinely struggling to find any corners to cut on the rest of the build to accommodate the extra on the monitor. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Would love to help dude but I've just checked and since I paid for it earlier the price has gone up quite a bit. I'm wondering if it was a mistake and they've only just noticed lol. It's coming from somewhere in Germany not Dell. Think that's all I can say without breaking the rules.

No worries. Congrats on the price though. Looks like I'll just need to bite the bullet and take what's coming. :D I suppose with the 10% it's still more reasonable than the LG and with better customer care and stand.

Do you think there going cost less in the UK ?
As I may try one if there going be around £500

But I really only want to buy monitors now that support G-Sync and non the 34" super wide's do ...

It'll be somewhere between £800 and £900 when it filters through to other retailers here... at a guess. I honestly don't think there's even a remote chance it will be anywhere near £500...even in a year. The AOC is pitched more around that price however isn't curved.

I would also hazard a guess in saying that the first g-sync 34" super wide will be eye-wateringly expensive if you consider the price all of the other regular 34" superwides are. Look what Asus can get away with charging for a TN panel will g-sync....and it was flying off the shelves. A 34" 3440x1440 at 144hz with g-sync would also require extremely high powered graphics cards to best run it.

We only have ourselves to blame ultimately... humanity that is. So many of us are all too willing to pay the exhorbitant price for brand new tech. A highly coveted item's cost is directly in proportion to how much we desire it, with zero bearing on the actual real world value.
