I can't believe how ridiculously OP the Fusion Rifles are in MP. After getting owned by them the other night I tried one today and they're silly. Just a one shot kill every time.

Absolutely outrageous aren't they? I've spent an awful lot of time in the Crucible since the game came out and I'm pretty sure over 80% of my deaths come from Fusion Rifles, I'm very hesitant to call something overpowered (I think Bladedancer is fine and I'm a Titan) but I do think these need to be tweaked a little. Their area of effect is too large I think is the issue, you're hitting somebody even though your crosshairs aren't on them. Something a little closer to the railgun from Q3 would be more appropiate.

The gun have a charge time that lames it a little, takes a lot of practice to be good. Don't forget the gun does a vertical recoil spray, another element to get the hang of.

CQB, shotgun will win it at the first to trigger.
Mid range however, it's close to being a winner but it needs an element of luck and the finishing spray to be in the head region to defo 1 shot kill.

Use to think it's crap but after a load of practice on hordes of enemies, I got the hang of it and owns. My bro on the other hand is absolutely pants still, he can't anticipate well...

I am finding the biggest problem is shotguns. People just appearing and before I can even react I am dead from a shotgun blast. I don't have a decent shotgun (Either that or I totally and utterly fail) as it takes me about 6 shotgun blasts to kill anyone.

Currently rocking an auto rifle that has about 60 bullets in it. The sheer weight of fire I send at people tends to win the fight. Unless of course it is a point blank blast from a shotgun, they do not miss with the Fusion rifle or its one of those insta headshot snipers I keep facing.

OK, here we go.

Let me start by saying that I am pretty awful at most games, particularly console FPS games. I am dreadful with a controller as I am a PC keyboard/mouse player and I ain't great with that. I bought the game recently, as I liked the looked of it and my PS4 has just been gathering dust.

I love this game. I love the fact that it's not story driven to be honest. I am only level 5 and I am spending most of my time doing the Patrol missions. Great fun. I can just chill out, do some exploring, getting random missions to keep me busy.

I hope all the planets have these missions as they are definitely my sort of thing. Great game.

Shotgun (or worst, Shotguns with perk of Full Auto!) completely owns in close quarter battles. Always. On PvP, it's not how strong your shotgun is, it's what perk it holds.

If you need 6 shots to kill, you're too far.

e: I still carry a level 10 shotgun with HIGH impact 3 shots for PvP. Great for small control maps.

Even at point blank my shotguns seems to hardly take their shield down let alone bring them to near death

Do you aim at their feet or something?

Aim for player's shoulders, quickest way to kill and with recoil, you can luck it out into their heads. Shotgun instant kills at the range of Warlock's Melee range - unless you get players that specialises in higher armour or you miss them because they're high agility hunters.

does anybody know what the "level advantages removed" phrase means in reference to the crucible ?

Does everybody have the same armour and damage, because the weapons still appear to be different ?

I believe base damage is levelled out, but you still retain your upgrades?

Hope this helps:

What doesn't carry over (becomes a normalized amount)

Base defense
Base weapon attack
What does carry over

Weapon progression (including damage bonuses)
Armor progression (Including Defense bonuses)
Abilities
Character progression (stat upgrades)
This means that even though they are on relatively equal starting ground. A Level 20+ will have an advantage over a level 5, but not so much that the low level doesn't stand a chance.

Yes I quite clearly run around aiming pretty much at the floor so I can shoot their feet.
