*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

So Alpha over and Im still not sure about this game, hoping the Beta gives me a better idea. Honestly if it wasnt deved by an outfit like Bungie Id happily dismiss/ignore this. Really hoping to learn more about how they will support it long-term and how theyll keep the missions varied...

MMO-like games are things I usually avoid, this does seem fun and has left me wanting more (not sure if thats because I didnt have enough time with it because of the footy) but its hard to shift that generic/F2P feeling.

Definitely a co-op game for me, its just not honed for single player IMHO...

ps3ud0

I did the strike mission last night with randoms

It seemed pretty fun but would be soo much better on mics with people you know. They were just all doing there own thing etc abd it took ages

So i am wondering if its for me as all my lot are pc gamers really, im the only one on ps4. Saying that i am now enjoying the competitive mode a bit more.

It did feel good finishing the mission, its pretty much a small scale mmo instance with more focus on the wave shooting side of things, which i usually dislike but i quite enjoyed this.

Cant base all judgements on this though, it seems solid enough and based on this test is more interesting than any other multiplayer fps this year

Ill give the beta a shot aswell hopefully and decide then!

Need something to play til W3 hits in feb

my view as changed from being great to not so sure, seems every mission is the same just going to different places, once my warlock was maxed out i'm not sure if any more gameplay? i did enjoy searching the maps for upgrades for my player, now its got 106 on every weapon it seems boring as everything pretty easy to kill

game i had with ps3ud0 and ak was strange was no boss fights, every mission was the same thing, maybe ps3ud0 and ak players model was very low level they can't attack them, not sure ...

Edit: ps3ud0 i think you will enjoy the crucible more, its players vs players :)

I hear the raids will be very challenging so end game content won't be a walk in the park. I hear it took a team 45 mins just to get INTO the raid. They have apparently added platforming elements which sounds pretty interesting. It could have just been that they had no idea what they were doing of course.

bit like serious sam, loads of enemies and a boss fight at the end ...

I really enjoyed the Alpha, added huge amounts of interest as i wasn't really bothered before, cant wait for the Beta and that will seal it if i purchase or not, online "Control" was really fun and fast paced

I have Destiny withdrawal, not really interested in my other games now. Bit of Fifa here and there but that's it. Tried playing Warframe but I genuinely couldn't figure it out, didn't like the art style or the game play. Hurry up Beta.

Same. I really think playing through the strikes with a couple of mates, increasing the difficultly to brave and legend will be great.

Indeed although this is a game that I can play on my own when I feel like or just explore, the main attraction is doing strikes/raids with friends, going to be so much fun.

Playing online "control" aka domination felt very Borderlands/Halo/Cod like. I had a blast on my own capturing the objectives going for the win. I feel it will be a big hit online and very objective orientated.

I quite enjoyed that part of the game, apart from a few times where I encountered people who would perform double-jumps whilst in close-combat - really ruined those games for me.

Overall impressions were quite good, but it seems like the kind of game you'll need to plough hours of time into, which I'm probably not going to do.
