People always quote "It's diablo, it's all about the farm, why are you suprised?" - NO ONE IS COMPLAINING ABOUT THAT!

It's the complete disparity and unbalanced nature of the game. On one hand we have Demon Hunters / Wizards who are farming Act 4 inferno without a problem, and on the other we have the likes of me (albeit, I'm no pro) barbarians, monks and witch doctors who are struggling in act 2. We're not even a complete month into the game and there are good number of people already farming the end-game.

Please don't tell me "those classes scale a lot more with better gear" - Every class should be on a level pegging, the fact that Demon Hunters and Wizards just strolled into the higher level acts with the gear requirements that would just about get the other three classes through act 1 begs belief.

/Rant

Do you have any defense, hard cc or healing?

Resists are seriously undervalued, around 200 resist all is about 40% reduction.

I don't have much resistance it seems, in the 20's.

Resistance you need em. physical / all elemental resist I asked something similar to that few pages back regarding dmg v armor and someone posted a youtube vid stacking resistance

I tried it and its working well for me at the moment

So I should replace my gear with resistance?

its kind of understandable people do given blizzards stupid "100% reliance on their flakey servers working to play even for SP" thing...

Diablo is a genre in it's own and requiring it all to be hosted on Blizzards servers to prevent hacking is fine by me. Sure there were server problems but they are all but gone now and in a couple of weeks they will more than likely be 100% gone. Most computers are always online anyway.

I don't disagree with that, but i also know that Diablos a franchise that keeps patching and improving whenever they can. The first few months there's a few game-breaking balancing issues but they'll be sorted.

Pro tip for DH, forget surv, things in inferno will 1-2 hit you no matter how much resist/vit u get. Get all damage and attack speed you can and learn to dodge.

Can't remember where but I've seen a stream of DH farming act 3-4 inferno and he had 120k dps. 'nuff said things were melting very quickly.
He still will die if he wont dodge but you're not supposed to finish inferno without dying, u're supposed to die unless u're in perfectly coordinated group with the right skill setup, teamwork and gear.

Well atm some of my armors mainly have 20-30 elemental resist and some physical

damage reduction from armor is 60%. physical reudction is 60% and my each of my elemental resist are around 300-400

not the high still but very useful. elites that I die a lot before now I can survive the whole ordeal

i try to mix resist with vit and str stats when buying gears but with very limited gold I had to settle for low numbers

Bought some gear off the AH, cleaving my way through Nightmare nicely now =) I actually had my first decent drop ever though, nice pair of pants! By the way, is it just me or is the Blacksmith absolutely useless? I've leveled him up quite a few times now and it just seems like he crafts weapons quite a few levels below what I need -_-

Just picked up a nice pair of trousers off of the AH. My first ever armour with + Phsy resistance....

Hit L50 and just demolished Diablo on NM. May go onto Hell when I'm next on, or might go back and farm NM some more. Not too sure which.

Will most likely not be on tomorrow due to the moving stuff malarky, but oh well. Servers are going to be down for a couple of hours anyway, so hardly the end of the world.

Have to keep putting money into him to level him up and then hope that eventually you will get a good roll when he crafts an item for you.

Played up to level 18 now, part way through Act 2, defeated Magdha.

Very easy so far, I know its normal difficulty but a bit of a challenge would be nice! I found the trees which drop poison more difficult in groups than the bosses!

Just nerfing everything with a fist weapon and dagger, Monk seems to have some good abilities that help you out when surrounded. The lack of ranged attack can be annoying, have to charge the enemy so they are stunned then kill them.

Resist is extremely important in inferno so it is worth gathering some resist gear now. In inferno your main 3 stats will be All resist>Vitality>strength and damage reduction is also useful. Also may be worth trying a one hander and shield, I struggled towards the end of hell before I realised how useful a 25%+ shield block is.

Given that gear drops are always 5+ lvls beneath what would actually be useful for you, do people purely farm for gear at all or is it just gold + AH stuff?

I'm in the Arreat Crater, hell mode. Barb level 60.

61k HP
5.4k DPS

I've only recently started to die A LOT.

I need more DPS?

i'm nearly on act 3 hell mode. Barb (57lvl)
31k hp
4k dps

you might want to try a tank build skills if you are not all ready. i only die on yellow/purple mobs with the following combo.
(i think i've died 5 times in total on hell)
lighting/fire/vortex in the sewers this is scary as hell.

also vitality is good and all but Resistance is best stat in the game so look out for that, Dex is rubbish for my build as i want to get hit to heal myself (proc's revenge)

whats your other stats like?
Mine
Dodge = 16%
Resistance = 37.3
Armour = 6000 (7000+ with warcry) (stopping 65-70% dmg)

also your using a shield right?

just for reference
Left Click = frenzy (rune that heals)
Right click = Furious charge (last rune heals 8.0% of life on each hit)
1 = Rage with rune (more damage)
2 - call of ancients with rune (last longer)
3. revenge with rune (provcation)
4. warcry (extra armour)

i'm not saying these are perfect, however these work for ME. try them if you like

reference i use

resistance all > other resist > Intel > vitality > strength > dexterity

heal every second stats are amazing to.

Agreed. Don't like it, fair enough - stop comparing it to MMOs though.

It is the same (or wow is the same as Diablo as Diablo came first) behind all the gloss it is a single player mmo. The essence of the mmo (when you break it down) is to farm gear again and again because the content gets steadily harder exactly like Diablo but Diablo is SP.

lolwut?

A Singleplayer Massively Multiplayer Online game...

Contradiction much?

Yeah his armour crafting is great. Its his weapon crafting that sucks balls. They tend to be way below your current level thanks to a pretty poor selection available for certain classes.

Archon is so awesome. On Nightmare Act I playing catch-up. Found the Jar of Souls event, sat in the middle and got a 130 massacre streak. Then did the Skeleton King last night and down him in under 20 seconds for the achievement. 300% damage beam? Love it :D

Wasn't that was D2 was doing over a decade ago?

I agree, I said that in my post that Diablo came and did the model first. I'm by no means bashing the game I'm just having a laugh at the posters who seem shocked that it is a grind farm, that is what Diablo has always been.
