Apparently I don't have a Diablo 3 license assigned to my BNet account. I presume this is because it hasn't started yet. But could somebody confirm whether I need to pre-order or not, to get in this weekend?

It's open beta, your granny should be able to get in !.
 
I've had the beta for awhile now, so I'm actually pretty bored of it after killing the Skeleton King 1000000x times, but congrats to all you guys who have been waiting, it should tide you over until May 15th.

To be honest, Path of Exile has filled the void the past month. It's really quite good, just needs more content. Prior to that I re-played D2-LoD on closed BNet for the 50th time, suprisingly my Necro hadn't been deleted.

Anyway looking forward to this, but you know it's gonna be hammered tonight.

PoE was OK, but you could tell it was basically a low budget Diablo clone. I also replayed some D2, but I'm trying to give my hands a break until D3 as I suffer with RSI.

And yeah, the servers are going to be mashed to bits, but apparently they've moved from the beta servers to the retail servers, so they should be a lot more stable.
 
Took ages to get my download to work (I had to change the agent file to XP compatibility), and its currently only 47% done with 2 Gb left to download :(
 
My stupid account had a mobile authenticator on it, but my phone was wiped and I had to reinstall it, but now I have had to send a request to remove the authenticator, I hope they work weekends!!!!

Can you not simply install the authenticator again and use the restore code?

Nope.

Call them on the phone. I got mine removed instantly when I was away in Thailand for 6 months without it. other than the wait in the phone queue it was done there and then.

I called with Skype, was an 0800 iirc.

Exactly, the app specifically makes it clear that you need to note down the serial number and the restore code. If anyone doesn't then it's their own fault if they have to waste time trying to get blizzard to remove the authenticator.
 
One of the things that I dont think has been mentioned much are the audio logs you get when encountering new monsters and finding books etc.

The cain ones are decent, but the Abd al hazir ones are fantastic imo, along with some others: "My name is Lachdanan and I am cursed."

Actually I did write the code down, but it did not work, probably because it hasnt been used since I last played wow, 2 years ago now. It was stored on a document on my PC which has been wiped since.
