Downloading it on my MBP atm as my PC's WiFi is having a few issues today and I've had to restart the download all over again! Turning off P2P has really helped my download speeds. This will help me decide whether I'm going to buy it on release date or not (and book a day off work :)) as I'm currently playing SWTOR and mainly looking forward to GW2.

I've never played the Diablo series before and it's only because some of my friends are playing that I'm going to try it out. Dunno which class to pick, but probably a range class as I always tend to play melee.

Apparently you can select EU/US within the client once it's installed, so you should be ok.

Might download this tonight on me 2mb ADSL :(

EU client: https://eu.battle.net/account/download/index.xml
( altho apparently both US + EU clients are the same? might get better download speeds from EU? )

You can choose EU/America/Asia once you're in game. You can only log in to US at the moment though.

Beta is in US. Logging into EU doesn't work at the moment. Not sure if it will tonight when they make it open.

US servers are still live at the moment (closed beta), EU ones are down. Wonder if they'll put EU live for the open beta!? It'll be interesting to see what ping I'll be playing with realistically.

So the game will be open at 8... how long till the servers recover from the inevitable meltdown I wonder?

Still, I'd hope they at least know where to start given that its a stress test and they aren't exactly strangers to large player counts.

usually id worry about this, but this is blizzard im sure they will have it covered.. 'touch wood'
 
To play the Beta or not to play the Beta, really can't decide. Got the client downloaded but don't want to spoil the shiny fresh feeling you get with new games and with it less than a month till release I think I might give it a miss.
 
Certainly no speed issues downloading the Beta game files at home - 5.56MB/sec :). Not going to have a massive amount of time to play it but will be nice to get a flavour of what is to come after such a long wait :)

However I did have the peer to peer issue where it knocks out my internet :(. On that note, why can't companies actually design a router that doesn't **** itself when you try to play a game? I thought I had got away from these issues after having a Thomson router with O2 that would have a hissy fit when I tried to play Killing Floor. To get it working properly I had to go into the CMD prompt, log in as the superuser and remove the GAME ports.

Such a faff.
