*** The Official Diablo III Thread ***

Ok got to 70, just started on the noob rifts on expert for now, seems to be going ok not died yet at least.

Quick questions - On rifts just kill the boss & leave or full clear them?

Any good noob sets to grab before I get to torment for the good stuff?

None of the recipes I've got so far seem all that great, did get lucky & get a ring that reduced set items needed for bonus, royal something, saw it recommended on 1 guide I read.

Kill the boss and then leave. There is no point in continuing to clear the full rift anymore when they don't cost anything to open them. Closing them after the boss increases blood shards. As for sets I'd just wear anything you can get at this point, using a couple of 2 piece bonuses from your class sets can rocket you from Master to Torment 4-6 quite easily. I wouldn't play on Expert and would just put it straight up to Master. Ideally you want to be Torment 1 as soon as possible as sets only drop in Torment difficulties.

Going to get back into Seasonal properly i think.. hopefully find another 3 guys and roll a support monk maybe!

If there is anyone who is bored later on tonight who wouldn't mind boosting me from 45 to 70(and let me hang around a bit to pick up some level relevant armour) that would be much appreciated! If not no worries!

Is there currently a overclockers clan up and running?

edit: nevermind seen the clan in original post!

I've had to give up again due to lag, it's the only game it happens. The same thing happened last season too - huge pauses in game play, elastic banding, over 1200 ping.

It hasn't happened than often lately, but at the beginning of the week every rift with high density was like playing blind. Also not sure what class you're playing but the helltooth build for the WD is notorious for causing insane unplayable lag.

For the most part it's the servers, considering that in asian, where the game just released recently nobody is having issues with helltooth build. This could be due to the asain servers potentially running on better hardware.

I'm not sure if to continue to grind for another barb hf amulet:

It's not ancient but high strength roll, CD at 81% (the only real negative) and CC re-rolled to 10%. The passive is perfect being Rampage (for ww build)?

Mine is pretty nice, got it with the first three that I made.

Don't particularly like the WW build, as it's pretty boring for me. Currently trying to build up other sets to try out.

Tried doing the speed demon conquest tonight got as close as 2:27. One thing I noticed while blasting T10 is that you run into gob rifts almost every 5 rifts, annoying when you're trying to complete in under 2 mins. :D

Hotfix incoming for the Hellfire exploit, including bans/suspensions/rollbacks for accounts who've used it.

Hey all,

We're currently working on a number of hotfixes to address an exploit that allows players to equip more than one passive from multiple Hellfire Amulets. While we don’t have an ETA for the final round of these fixes, we're looking to implement those that address the underlying bug as soon as possible in all gameplay regions and will be sure to update this thread once they are live.

We're also investigating accounts which have been found to be actively using this exploit to gain an unfair advantage and account actions will be taken accordingly. This behavior not only undermines the spirit of fair play, but directly violates our in-game policies for Diablo III. It is important to us to continue maintaining a stable, safe, and enjoyable online environment for all legitimate players. This is an ongoing investigation, and we’ll be continuing to monitor Battle.net and will take additional action as needed.

In the meantime, we encourage everyone to game responsibly. Not only can using exploits lead to account penalties, but it can negatively impact the enjoyment of your fellow players. We're working as quickly as we can to fix the underlying issue, and we'd appreciate your help in keeping the effects of this exploit as minimal as possible until it's removed from the game.

For more information on how to report exploitative behavior, click here. For questions regarding account actions, please refer to our Account Administration.

Thanks!

Has anyone else had the bug with extracting 25 legs into the cube not showing up?

Got the two normal achievements but not the one in the season only, only thing stopping me from ranking it up to the gold portrait.

Guess I'll just have to keep throwing legs into the cube and hope it pops up, though running bounties is nearly as boring as watching paint dry.

Yeah it's bugged, doesn't count jewellery I heard, or possibly class specific items. Took me 63 cubes to get the 50 one for the season challenge even though I got the "50 Cubist" well before it.

AFAIK its not bugged, its not counting anything you do which is class specific but not for the class your currently using.

So for example if i cube a crusader shield on my monk it wont count towards the achieve, but if i cube criterons shield it will, one is class specific the other is for any class that can use it.

Same if i try to cube a barb weap, while it will work it wont count towards my total, whereas a furnace will as its a universal item.

BTW nice to hear about the incoming fix Flibby, hope to see a lot of people gettin rollbacks :)

A good punishment would be to delete the exploiters seasonal characters, empty their seasonal stash and reset their seasonal paragon to 0, and perform a full leaderboard wipe.

People need to be shown they cannot exploit, surely they would have figured this out after the blood goblin exploit... But if that isn't working, then you need to give them the stick.

If they know who the exploiters are then why wipe the leaderboards? Any person or team with an exploiter in should be removed, simple! Wiping the whole thing would be punishing people who didn't exploit too.

Also anyone else getting bored? I played a lot the last couple of weeks which probably doesn't help, but after you get all the gear you need, it's kind of pointless carrying on! :D

Additionally I am a little sick of the rift/grift RNG, I can do a rift which is awesome and can be completed in time, the next rift I get has no hope of being done just due to density or map type.

Likewise for pushing GR's, need a good setup but finding it hard to get the right people on to push further than we have done so far, and same there with the RNG, get a good conduit can make the difference between completing or not.

I'd like to see:

  • Mob Density more consistently good in rifts/grifts. Especially grifts where you're on a timer.
  • Remove the cave maps. Thin corridors + lazers = impossible, also dead ends and circle loops everywhere.
  • I think Champion elites get too much HP over the normal blue ones, at some point it's more or less worthless spending the time to kill them and you're better off finding more trash to kill.
  • Bounties are simply not fun, especially "clear level 2" ones. The thought of doing bounties just makes me sad.
  • Looting stuff is a chore, there should be something in game to pick up the stuff that drops as you go about automatically.
  • Stash space is a joke, run out all the time, even when playing just one character (barb this season). Moving stuff between characters requires logging them into the game and pulling from shared stash.

I don't think a leaderboard wipe is necessary but an issue is people who haven't exploited but have indirectly benefited from someone else exploiting, such as 3 people in a 4 man group using the exploit and the 4th person benefits even though they aren't. All players who have used or are using it should have their characters deleted, paragon and stash reset and their leaderboard times wiped. Anyone who had a time on a leaderboard in a group with someone who exploited should have that time wiped as well. People who've exploited it and also exploited in a previous season should be straight up banned.

I don't mind cave maps themselves and some classes prefer tight spaces than others but the density in them tends to be horrific in comparison to other maps. The density in general this season is really poor. I had a few attempts at GR61 on my WD and failed it about 4 times in a row. Tried again this morning and did it first go in 11:10. That's at least 5 minutes difference purely because the density was better which is just too much. I'm fine up to about GR65 I'd say but the amount of fishing that is going to require will be mind numbing.

Elite monsters aren't worth killing at high GRs unless their monster base-type is something with low health, but I find this is the case with anything whether it be Champions or trash monsters if there isn't at least 10 monsters around it to kill together.

Stash space has always been low but I'm finding I can just about cope with 2 classes this season when being ruthless with the items I'm getting. One stash tab is enough space for 2 rows of 2x1 legendary items leaving 3 rows of 2x1 which is enough room for 1 piece of every set item for that class. So I have one tab for Witch Doctor, one for Monk, one for items I need to cube, one for gems/crafting stuff and the last one is a miscellany of items.

So I'm on to t1 now, only had 1 near death in a narrow corridor with those beams going, feel my damage is a bit low against elites, trying to cube a furnace atm to help with that.

Tried a level 1 grift last night & it was very easy, so I'm wondering what the best way to start on grifts now is, I read about slow rolling & that its no longer a good way to do it since 2.3, so just aim as high as I can clear I guess?

Well the normal elites I can often kill with the trash packs, but not the champion ones so much, especially when I was trying GR65.

Oh yeah, I really wish they would sort out the mob types too, I mean in general. I really hate mobs who try to run away, or sit there firing stuff at you. OK makes sense with like the undead archers or whatever, but the wasps/bees are incredibly annoying, same with the caster ones who split up and try to keep distance on you, especially when they are elite types.

A lot of this is problems with the original game I think, the campaign mode is kind of weak, acts 1 and 3 aren't bad, but the others not so great, and they completely made it redundant when they made adventure mode too. The core of the game is good, your basic hack and slash action which works well.

I remember playing a lot of Diablo 2, that had some annoying stuff too (act 2 on that was awful :D) but on the whole had a darker/more gritty feel to it. I'd like to see some awesome stuff when they get around to doing the next expansion.

Saying all of this, the game is improving in general from release all the time. Just for me personally I can only play it for so long before I put it down again until they make more changes/improvements and I pick it back up again. Last I played was around season 1, I completely skipped seasons 2 and 3.
