And so it continues. We'll eventually be 1-shotting all three new torment difficulties, people will do grift 100+ on day one of a new season and the new torments will eventually become pointless to play.
The game needs a major re-think and change-up. Vanilla D3 was getting there, inferno was real difficult and the whole game was slower paced. Granted, it needed some work from what was originally released, but it's now gone way off in some other direction that isn't Diablo.
Bring back spell trees, stat assignments, runewords, hell mode which is actually difficult (i.e. just bring back the D2 systems and start again from there, taking some hints from PoE/Grim Dawn along the way).
I still love the game, I've spent thousands of hours in it since vanilla beta, but adding more and more torment modes and having no cap on the grift level is getting silly. The only thing to do in the game at the moment is compete on the grift leaderboards which isn't Diablo.
And what's with the retarded percentages and ever growing numbers? That's also getting ridiculous. Bring back having a few thousand health and hitting for not much more. There's no point even showing me damage numbers currently with the size they are.
I do partially agree, but the game is infinitely more tough than vanilla was. Inferno wasn't even half as difficult as pushing your characters to their limits in greater rifts.
As for Torment rifts being pointless, that's just incorrect and makes it sound like you know nothing about the game. Torment is extremely important for Death's breath and keystones, the 2 most important consumables in the entire game. Having 3 new torment tiers will most likely mean we may get up to 3 Death's breaths per Elite/keystones per rift. New Torments are some of the best content we can hope for outside of an expansion.
Now if only they'd remove randomly generated greater rifts and have a different pre-set rift every week and leaderboards being determined by how many rifts you placed first in... Also no pilons in them and less irellevant stats on gear... Then D3 would be perfect.
Ok, "pointless" was the wrong word to use.
After a few runs 1-shotting T10, it gets a little tedious. No challenge, barely any upgrades (you get kitted out so quickly these days), the upgrades that I do get are generally from crafting which is just clicking a button in town after I've mindlessly farmed a few hundred or thousand Deaths Breath etc.
It's all just a bit too far gone from what Diablo is all about.
Again, don't get me wrong, I love the game and have spent thousands of hours in it, but the latest few patches and seasons have been meh.
pre-set rifts would kill the game for a lot of people, some weeks they likely wouldn't even be worth doing with annoying mobs/map types. People complain but I think a lot enjoy being able to fish for a special one, if you take the randomness out of it, I think it would become boring.

Problem with D3 1.0 is that people didn't trade items, they sold them.
I wish trading was still allowed minus the RMAH.
Gold is out of control
Damage is out of control to the point you don't pay attention
Kadala gives legendary's far to easy, it's a nice feature but needs change
Crafting needs to be more powerful, and more expensive/harder to acquire mats.
Chat channels needs a complete overhaul so that people interact with each other better.
Ancient items shouldn't have been added, it prolongs the grind, reduce legendary drops since their too high but provide other means not existing now (ie Kadala through multiple methods).
Just some of my personal thoughts. I do like D3 now, and I do think it has a lot of improved things from 1.0 but it could be better, a lot better.
Problem with trading even without RMAH is that people will still sell gear for real money, why that's not necessarily an issue, imagine 2 players competing for #1 spot, and one of them buys a Compass Rose (one of the most aids items to ever try and get good rolls on) with perfect and high rolls, and takes the #1 because of it.
