Can't say I'm excited for a 3Rd patch with just balance and qol stuff. At least it looks like they are working on the energy twister meta.

Game needs some xpansion or d4 news soon

Diablo 3 has a completely new playerbase to what 2 had. You only have to look at how many major names in the community have been banned for botting, how many use TurboHud etc.

They would definitely pay money for better gear, and the difference between a 'meh' rolled item and a perfect rolled item is literally a GR tier or 2.

I disagree on this :) Any good player who invests time wouldn't have meh items and the difference wouldn't be a GR or too, it's down to fishing above all else.

But I don't think neither of us can be proved "right" here.

I do agree that some would try to buy items illegally, but that's part and parcel of any game that allows trading.

Maybe, but Quin69 for example has never had a good Compass Rose, does he not mindlessly grind enough? ;)
 
Josh Mosqueira has stepped down as director of Diablo 3

Blizzard confirmed that Mosqueira has stepped down as director of Diablo 3 and is no longer at Blizzard.

"With Diablo III in a good place at this point, Josh felt that now was a good time to pursue other opportunities with minimal impact to the team," Blizzard said in an email. "We'll be filling the director role either from within Blizzard or externally."

Honestly, I'm glad. The game is no longer about finding amazing items. Set items rule all, anything non-legendary is always trash, there's no economy or trading, etc. I hope a new game director changes that but with the current positions opening for the "Unannounced Diablo Project" at Blizzard I'm hedging a bet it's probably a new Diablo game rather than an expansion, and I'm expecting Diablo 3 to now enter maintenance mode. I just hope it's an ARPG Diablo game and not some dodgy card game or "World of Diablo".

I kinda miss it.

I miss the trading mostly, and the economy, but I don't miss how drops were revolved around the auction house. Plus the AH was pretty convenient to sell when you were playing. Definitely don't miss the RMAH. I'd take the normal gold based AH any day though over nothing.
 
Twister meta still Rank 1 on PTR with 101 clear, Twister Wiz, supp pull barb, supp/Haunt WD, Supp Monk#

Sure the supp gameplay has changed a bit for some classes but its still one main dps with the WD stacking debuffs and monk/barb damage reduction/grouping

If thats what makes it to live ill be quitting season once ive got my stash tab, aint doing that crap meta for another season

^ This i hate the twister meta it's a horrible balance and simply not fun.
 
Blizzard have done a terrible job balancing and generally making all classes fun since vanilla. Fact that you get XP and loot boost for playing with others, as well as no downside to 4 players is a joke, 4 player is so aids. You get punished for playing by yourself, absolutely ridiculous.
 
just got this game last week.

Been rotating between Barb, Wiz and DH on hard mode. Just got all of the to level 30 and about to go Leoric's manor.

Really enjoying it, the story is great and there is something strangely stress relieving smashing through this game.

Totally enjoying this game, has taken over Overwatch as my most played game.

My Barb, DH and Wiz have just started Bastion's Keep and are level 45, think I will almost certainly buy the expansion when I hit 60 and have completed the story mode.

Good to see new players still enjoying the game :)

I would recommend the expansion, it is very good if you enjoy the single player story mode.

Maybe try and get to 70 before the next season starts, that's where most of the activity is these days.
 
Vague question, but has there been any whispers of an expansion upcoming? I used to enjoy the game before it became just patches of bigger numbers. The GR system just encourages this I feel, since every patch the GR level just goes up by 10-20 without any solid content being added.
