Gear upgrades will get rarer and rarer. As for the free set you get 2 pieces for doing one of three things. I'm not sure if it's changed recently though. When you complete it you'll get a Haedric's Gift in the mail. Open that and it'll have a couple of pieces of a set.

* Reach level 70
* Kill Zoltan on T2+ at 70
* Do a GR 20 solo

Yeah it's changed now, you won't get the set so immediately anymore, you have to complete the 2nd chapter of season journey to get the first 2 parts for example.

A change for the good I think, the previous way was too easy.
 
ok cool, next question, it looks like all your characters go up the same Paragon level at the same time, I'm guessing the only difference between them is gear quality?
 
Season/None Season/Hardcore and season hardcore all have separate paragon levels.

However when the season ends the cumulative exp you have gained on your seasonal character is added onto your none seasonal paragon level so if you are like level 800 none season and 300 on season your none season may end up at around 820.

It's nice to have really because it means if you make a new toon it is going to be massively stronger than a level 70 with no paragons.
 
Imagine you just got home with your new copy of Diablo 3 with RoS, installed it and made an account. You log in, create a character and start with nothing. That's seasons.

Yes, Paragon is account wide and your characters have different items/gear.

Depends if you played them as seasonal characters or not.
Well, now it doesn't, all seasonal characters have become non-seasonal. So next season everyone will need to create new seasonal characters.

So none of the characters you've been playing will be season characters next season. Also none of the items you've obtained will be present for season characters next season.


I'm not actually sure what the benefit of being a season character is if I'm honest...
 
Been playin my WD a bit on PTR, every man and their dog is gonna be playing WD next season, its just replaced the Wiz as the damage dealer in GR groups.

4 man meta looks to be Monk, Barb, WD, WD if the PTR is anything to go by, but this ptr has apparently been the lowest in terms of people actively playing it so we shall see.

Torn between sticking with monk or going WD to start with Season 7. Monk gets Raiment and WD gets Helltooth as the free sets which are both the top end game sets so either will be a good choice.

The main reason people play seasons is for a fresh start and fresh leaderboards, look on non seasons leaderboards and they are dominated by paragon level, 3000+ paragon is the norm on non season leaderboards and quite simply you just cant compete against that much main stat with low <2k paragon.

Sure by the end of a season people will be hitting high 2-3k paragon but at least in the early season it gives people a level playing field to start with before the botters start gaining control.

I'm tired of not seeing the demon hunter being useful/wanted in groups! For such a fun class to play (in my opinion) blizzard seem to pay it no love and IIRC this PTR holds nothing for us but nerfs to our already bottom of the spectrum class.
 
Next season is going to be WD or Monk for me. Both classes I havent played that much and would like to devote a season too, regardless of the meta.

Sharpy did you leave WS? I just logged in to transfer my mailbox stuff around after the season, didnt see you in clan but did see you in battle.net.

I am trying to get into POE at the moment though so maybe i'll skip the next D3 season!

Been playing some WD on the PTR Smudge, it seems like a lot of fun so far, quite looking forwards to playing it in live when S7 rolls around.

Never really enjoyed monk for some reason. Don't really care about meta grouping or anything still either.
