Picked this up again last night to see what a difference patch 1.4 has made.

Honestly it was a mixed bag.

I like what they have done with the world tiers, gear tweaks, "World bosses" and TTK/TTBK. These all feel like genuine improvements. Re-running some of the missions I know by heart on "hard" solo was interesting in Tier 3. I actually had to retreat and re-assess which actually felt good.

Seeing the (decent) loot drop constantly was also a welcome change. I have improved my gear noticeably with the inclusion of triple Sentry and dual Lone Star pieces. My stats have gone up ~ 20% and the difference was very obvious. Not bad for a couple hour input.

I haven't tried anything in tier 4 or challenge tier but I can only assume they will make me feel very squishy again.

It isn't all good though.. I had numerous cases of missions not updating, getting stuck in menus, menus going dark and the worst one was when the game was running at about 0.1 FPS in the menu itself (felt like horrific lag). Not good when I am trying to change weapons in the middle of a firefight (in cover).

So overall it feels like 1.4 is a step in the right direction but I a wondering if it was done too late.

I think as long as they follow up with some new content in the near future its fine. They really need to fix a lot of things and it mostly seems like they have, the nerfs made my normal setup useless now but loot drops enough to change builds.

Seems like the quickest way to get good stuff now is just to roam WT4 hunting the world bosses (Far easier than HVT's due to a lack of adds). That should get you 229 gear with decent enough stats. Once you have done that you can then start doing challenging missions etc until you get the build you want.

There is no longer a cross over on GS tiers (182/204/229 etc) so a perfect 204 roll is no longer better than a "crap" 229.

Pretty much everything I have is 204 so I need to run the "easier" sections in WT4 to get some 229 gear.

Tier 4 world boss hunting is my new favourite activity. It doesn't even need a crazy build as 95% of the enemies you'll come across don't even have armour. If I were levelling an alt now I'd chuck on anything I could to get to tier 4 and just get farming. You come across Bullet king for example, he is the *only* tough enemy, all others are regular reds. Run overheal, drop a flame turret and get blasting.

I'm now 4pc Alpha bridge, specialised backpack and savage gloves - 4 nights 1 afternoon playing. Had to blast caches for the mask in the end but only because no-one else was around to play. If you have a build in mind and have a couple of friends willing to share drops it speeds it up hugely. Could easily build a pred mark/strikers, pred mark/sentrys, hunters faith - Honestly lost count. Yes not everything is god rolled but recalibrating a few bits will get you a solid build in no time. All I need to do now is find some new AR's with better talent rolls.

Are you playing on Xbox or PS4? If the latter I'm happy to farm T4 and drop whatever you're after. Would like some better base rolls on some of my AB gear.

I am on PS4 (PSN tag is in sig).

I would just be happy to get a decent overall 229 build TBH. I have only been running WT3 solo to see what had changed (didn't read about the WT4 boss hunting until this morning) :).

I quite like my current (~198GS) build (HoK, CC & CD prioritised) so would aim for something similar in 229 GS.

I ran Lincoln tunnel last night on Hard (WT3) with matchmaking. It was (for my GS at least) the right level of challenging and rewarding. All 4 of us were on point with our skills and were chaining "supers" throughout (I have completely forgot what the Division calls the major skill). Enemies were far more aggressive than I remember and flanked, suppressed and made far more use of the cover around them. At the same point they would drop relatively quickly to sustained fire.

This is how I feel the pre 1.4 challenging missions should have felt.

Cool well I doubt i'll be on much tonight, maybe 6-8 ish, but should be on tomorrow night with a friend so there will be no trouble farming you a good build, or at least the basis of one. Make sure you have a nice clean inventory! ;)

Up to 229 Gear score now with a mixture of armour / stats. Not bad overall as I have Savage gloves and a Sturdy (increase armour by 15% when in the same cover for more than 4 seconds) holster (with armour).

In addition I am running a two piece Nomad (15% HoK) set with "meh" in the other slots. Not bad rolls but no set bonuses.

Weapon wise I have a decent ACR (replacing my old ACR) and a laser like Para SVD.

I found the easiest way to get gear was to roam around killing everything I came across (focusing on world bosses), selling the "rubbish" and then buying sealed caches at 200k credits a pop. Didn't take long at all to get to 229 - especially as I got around 5/6 set pieces from random red bar enemies.

Ran my first WT4 Challenge mission on Lexington last night. Was MUCH easier than I was expecting, especially as my build isn't exactly "perfect". I will have to try out Russian Consulate next.... :D

picked up a load of good gear this weekend and really boosted my stats. Re-rolled it all to armour first and damage second. Currently running 3 predator and 3 banshee with a 20k base damage AK and a PP19 smg all at 229. Having so much fun.
Looking for a good M60 to make a LMG build with 3 lone star and 3 striker. Think a 4 piece firecrest with a turret looks good fun but can't seem to find any gear. Was tripping over it in the underground before the patch. Sentry/pistol/shield looks interesting too.

Just got to level 10 & 11 and tried the dark zone. Ai seems very hard and keep getting wiped out by groups.

All my current gear is green. My stats are about 3.5k DPS AR, 6k health.

Bought this with the deal PSN was offering. I seen a video about the new patch a couple of weeks ago and it really had me intrigued.

Some of my friends picked it up again so I decided to download it today. Really looking forward to jumping on this as I really enjoyed it on release but there was just so little content to play at the time.

Just started playing again as well,

the 1.4 patch is fantastic, if only it were this way to start :/ much better balance and now i'm enjoying trying out different gear. Before i was stuck on my sentrys call set as nothing was remotely as good.

Best thing for me though is the adjustment of the EXP needed to level in the underground. I really enjoyed this mode but you needed way too much to progress in 1.3, now its hugely reduced :D

If any new players would like to team up then please add me PSN: LicensedDealer

Level 14 and DZ LVL 13 I am struggling :(

I have a Level 14 alt I could jump on with and give you a hand. I could jump on with my main character and power you through it but it wouldn't be much fun for you :p

Picked this up a few days ago whats the best way to go about selling/dismantling loot? Sell grey and green and dismantle blue gear? Or dismantle everything?
Obviously keep replacing your current gear with better as you progress - grey to green to blue to purple to yellow, but selling is best imo. On your way to end game there really is no need to spend anything. Then when you get to L30 use your money to buy gear and weapon caches at the vendors and more importantly to re-roll your gear stats. To be honest though loot is so plentiful since the current patch so unless you desperately want a perfect min max build (which you probably will!), then it doesn't matter all that much.
