Haqve you an asrock mobo?

If so 300 FSB will be the limit

Get a real mobo like a DS3 and some DDR 2

i cant get anything above 277fsb without it being instable and crashing. Seems a bit low compared to the other guy on same mobo whos got 300fsb and 2.7gig. Hes also on chepo ddr ram

Tried upping the pci-e bus to 109 as suggested and as is mine. This is safe and is known to help overclocking. If you have sata drives dont up the pci-e bus any higher or your data could possibly get corrupted as sata uses the same bus.

My main drive is sata, and my slave drive is IDE.

Ill up the bus to 109 then try stability testing at 2.5!

Edit - Well i must say, i can actually start to burn a dvd this time, it wouldnt even let me start before. Also at 2.4gig it was esimating 48mins for the dvd now its estimating 40mins for the same dvd :p 8 seconds :p

Going to leave it running while using the pc. It normally crashes while running orth and browning internet/msn. But i want to make sure it is stable :)

Ill update in 30mins if its still going strong :)

:)

My stability testing now consists of 10hrs orth stable, full fun of anti virus while burning a dvd, and a whole days of problem free gaming :p

Looking good so far apart from being a bit toasty, normally stick around and just under 60, popping up to 63 at times.

Thanks for the tip, will let you know how i get on.

Thanks for that mate, ill have a look at mine when ive done 10hrs in orth stable.

I think the only difference is my rams set to 1T. We'll see how it goes atm :) Made the 1hr mark in orth at 2.5.

hmm 1T doesn't always work with all mobo so that could be why you are keep failing orthos. Have you tried running 2T?

When i was getting the crashes, i tried 2T but it crashed again. It seems to be ok (touch wood) with pci freg at 109 so far :)

Why is your PCi-e on 109?

DO SOME RESEARCH!

Them bios shots are ron3003's

Mine is now on 109 because research + ron3003 told me it helps the overclock...i put it on 109 and its made my overclock stable.

I have 3 Asrock boards setup and running here at the moment. The bios shots above are from a 4CoreDual/Vsta with e2160.
I was previously 100% stable at 300mhz when I had agp graphics and ddr ram on an Asrock Dual/Vsta board with e6600 processor. Since going to pci-e and ddr2 on that board the max I can get stable is 294mhz. I never had any problem running at 1T with ddr ram (kingston valueram pc400) however now I'm on ddr2 (kingston valueram pc667) it simply falls over at 1T.
The third machine has an Asrock 4CoreDual/Vsta with e4400 and is sitting at 2700mhz 24/7. I didn't push that one any harder as it's used by a family member but tbh it was the easiest o/c with the e4400's 10x multiplier meaning it's only at 270fsb.

Nice o/c mel, looking forward to them screenshots :)

Ive just done 15hrs of orth blend while burning a dvd and doing anti virus checks at the same time, guess its stable lol :)

I'm happy, not going to push it anymore untill i buy an AC7 :)

Ron - Do you still use pci-e freq of 109 now your on a pci-e card?

Yes they're all at 109, the Dual/Vsta with e6600 has been like that since last October :D

Great !

Its made my o/c 200% stable, i had orth running / anti virus / nero burning dvds for 15hrs overnight and when i was at work and not one crash.

Cheers again for that tip, i might try my luck at 2.6 but i really would prefere a new fan first :)

I'm glad you're a bit more satisfied now camelot. Also, i don't know why i'm getting 300Mhz FSB and others aren't. I reckon i'm just lucky. I saw on a forum somewhere where a guy was able to get 318Mhz FSB, and on another forum where a guy got up to 338 (albeit with volt and pencil mods)
