Stock cooler?

Ive got mine at 2.4 10hr Orth stable, temps mostly under 60, couple of times went to 63.

Have you tried any games for 30mins+ with your overclock?

I'm not a games player so can't help you out there!!

Got my ASRock up to 295 on the FSB and it seems stable, no system crashes though not ran any stress tests. I tried 300 FSB but it locked on the initial BIOS screen detailing "Press F2...." to get into the BIOS set-up.

Not the stock cooler. It a gigabyte 3d rocket. So not the best either. Its a second PC and the case does not have the best airflow either.

I got mine up to 300Mhz and it booted fine...when your screen locks up is there an error code at the bottom right corner of the screen?

Mine also boots up at 300fsb (2.7ghz) 40c idle but im worried about temps going much higher than 63.

Whats the highest your temps go to? What cooler?

No error code from what I remember!!

It just displayed the first 3 or 4 lines of the Bios screen (detailing size of memory and pressing F2 or F11) and it didn't display the usual list of your hard drives etc.

I'll have another go at it later on.

Anyone else get above 300 on the FSB with the ASRock 4CoreDual?

I have my e2160 installed :D

It is idling at stock at the moment, any good voltages/speeds to jump in at?

I dont know about voltage as i cant seem to change mine on my mobo.

But i say go straight to 2.4ghz at stock volts and start stability testing :)

267fsb - 2.4ghz - temp mostly under 60, hit 63 a few times. 10hrs orth stable :) Supurb chips.

I have the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro (only about £17 from ocuk) and about 10 days ago when it was really hot, the chip maxed out at 68 degrees, which is cool enough considering the type of load the CPU was under. Gaming only really brought it up to about 60 or so.. I really recommend that cooler, I can't sing its praises enough, for the price.

I just can not get past 2.4ghz....tried 2.5 was running fine in orth....but soon as you do anything else i get a lot of crashes.

Just tried to burn a dvb and crashed.

Dont know if its the mobo or memory  Weird because you have it at 2.7gig on same mobo :p Maybe i got a crap chip? I can never get a chip past 2.5

Back to 2.4ghz now and dvd is burning nicely.

What do you mean "lap" yours?

You take your CPU,
4-lap-1.jpg

then rub it with sandpaper (follow the lapping guide in the Overclocking section/ Advanced Overclocking), as as the IHS (Integrated Heat Spreader) gets worn away, it looks like this:-
5-lap-2.jpg

Then, once it is completely flat it looks like this:-
6-lap-3.jpg

or

The idea being that now it will get a better contact with the HSF, heat will be transferred better, and it will run cooler (and hence overclock more).

lol Melbourne my Mrs thought it was cute as well.Usually she's like "grrr more PC stuff"!

Not sure you can get them in the UK yet but it performs ona par with my 120 and is passive.
