***The Official E2140/E2160 Overclocking Thread***

id say yes it needs more vcore, the amount you have to increase the vcore by goes up as you get closer to the clocks maximum. Keep at it, just make sure your RAM is capable too.
I won't hit 400 FSB so my RAM is fine. It's OCZ Platinum DDR2 800mhz @ 2.1v. It's under warranty to 2.3 aswell so it should be fine.
Edit: Bumped it back up to 2.9 and it still wouldn't boot with 1.33v. Is something wrong?

Got mine running at 3ghz idle's around 33c and prime 95 brings them upto around 58c-60c on stock cooling.

Will be aiming higher once I get a new cooler.

Thats intresting, quite low temperatures and vcore for what that speed...especially considering its a L2 revision.

If I leave on tat at 100% load it will hit the 70's and 60c in prime 95 other than that for what I do it bairly nudges over 40c from time to time.

Once I get new cooler weather it be water or air still deciding, then hopefully A 19's in super pi that's my next goal.

I've got my e2140 stable at 2.8GHz but it's set at 1.4250v in the BIOS (Although CPU-Z shows something completely random)

Why can everyone else run their CPUs at faster speeds on such a smaller voltage? Is it my settings or do I just have a crappy processor?!

Mine's at 1.425 for 3Ghz, not an M0. Cpu-z says revision L2. Probably doesnt need that much now with lower temps.

I can run mine, which is a M0 3Ghz at stock voltage :D Seems from there on higher it needs a proper voltage bump in order to boot/be stable. Guys at tomshardware seem to had to do the same thing: "We had to increase the CPU voltage to above 1.5 V to ensure processor stability at 3.2 GHz."

Yep, it's correct. Got a Scythe Mugen (Infinity), it's a big mofo :D Just got a new case (CM 690) and some 120MM fans blowing on it nicely. gonna be looking at stress under orthos tonight, don't have it installed yet! :)
