Trying it with my DK2 tonight, I deliberately missed out on the premium because I wanted to try it first as a DK2 game so very excited. Gopt my old school X52 and CH Pro pedals and will use VA for most of the commands as I cant see a keyboard! Hopefully this will go well...

Played a few scenario and I managed to get into a space station and eventually worked out how to get landing permission. I worked out how to use cruising and the jump drive but on each occasion I was interdicted and was destroyed. So far I have lost 4 ships, think nexct time I will try to just do a little trading then upgrade my ship.
In the sidewinder with the loaned guns its not worth trying to fight.

Nearly earned the Eagle and I'm really hoping I don't blow it up in the first hour.

Beta 1.1 (worked ok before) starts up to the menu screen then I've got the sound as if your selecting a menu option repeated constantly and selecting an option does nothing, happened both times I tried, not got time at the moment to look deeper into it.

Yep I get this too, not too sure if its been fixed yet.

My laptop on the other hand is fine.

Hi guys if I buy the beta at £50 I take it this will be the retail version going forward? As I got myself very confused as I thought
Elite dangerous and Star Citizen where the same game DOH

the sidewinder rips through fighters and cobras, and can take on an eagle if you're a good pilot and careful, though the eagle i find to be a much harder adversary in standard beta than it was in premium beta.

Think I'll hold off doing any real trading/fighting until I master landing manually without assistance, did it last night but almost landed on the wrong pad and was a bit* of a bumpy landing. Great fun though!

*Involved lots of swearing and clenching of cheeks.

you dont always need to land like a helicopter would. you can come vertically down facing the pad until your nose is almost touching it, then pitch up until level and lower down. This is how I land on pads right inside the docking port.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

also, where is a good place to upload screenshots in 16K >.< using alt F10 on a 4K monitor produces a 400mb BMP....

picked this up last night and went straight into multiplayer and started trading. Using a Ps3 pad and it seems not too bad. Is there a auto landing feature in the game. As i just presumed it was only manual?

There is a docking computer listed on the beta "contents". I assume you need to buy it as an upgrade.

From the video I've seen of it online it's a lot slower than manually docking but honestly where's the challenge? It's part of the game :)

yep certainly slower! which is what I'd expect. Manual is always the best if you can do it. For the really big boats though I'd think the slow safety of the computer might be a big factor especially on large volume valuable trade runs.

Anyone got a really good config for the Thrustmaster X, Doesn't seem to be enough buttons for everything.

Be good to see how everyone else has it set up.
