You can set priorities for ship systems on the right hand panel, you could try setting it so that the cargo hatch/landing gear etc are disabled when hardpoints are active. That's one of the ways to get railguns working on a Sidewinder.

It's not as if you need handing gear/cargo hatch when in combat.

If you do priorities correctly they'll turn off automatically when hard points are deployed as the hardpoints will have a different priority.

Here's the video showing how, doesn't mean it'll sort your problem but worth a try.

Been following this thread (and development of ED) with interest and so far have been able to resist making a purchase. However, the beta is calling me.....

Quick question though - one of the reasons I've held off (apart from the worry I'd play it to death in beta and then lose interest before release) is my current PC - (Q6600, HD5700, 4Gb RAM). Does anyone have a similar system and is playing the beta - if so, how does it manage ED (if at all)? I'm hoping that by release the game will be further optimised but I wonder how realistic it is to expect my current PC to cope...?

I've got a Q6600 (@3.3Ghz) with a 7870xt with 6GB of ram and the game runs on max setting typically at 60fps. In/around stations it might slow down to as low as 45fps, but I don't have an issue with that :)

I think your graphics card would be a real bottle neck though?

Here's my machine running it.... mind you it's locked to 30FPS due to the recording - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8D8ce_JtdFo

Note: The game currently runs in less that 1GB of ram...

Is it???? Oh that was oos earlier and £139.99. Nice one Moon, you just saved me a fair bit there, I paid £124.99 earlier. Especially as I have a voucher for that retailer.

Yes I did earlier and it was showing as due on 11.08.14 and at £139.99. It's ok though as I've cancelled my other and got this for £99.

I have a 5770 and it plays fine, a little stuttery in places but no real issues yet. I play at 1920* 1200 but normally medium detail and its seem to cope. Not sure which model in the HD5000 range you have though so these are my experiences.

Game looks like it works well with IR tracker but tbh I think that's a bit overkill for me personally. I'll be happy with the stick, no pedals either.

So I've spent this evening soldering together an EDTracker. Computer recognises it, but their software has some issues so I can't flash anything to it with their fancy GUI too, only command line
It's too late and I've breathed in too many solder fumes for me to start with that. So, partway there, but not fully yet.
Still, looking forward to getting it properly set up.
