£33.5k today near enough...doubtless helped by th announcement of the £1.4m Mac stretch goal, but the biggest single day since the first three days and quite a good number of pledges today as well.

This COULD happen!

I imagine there will be a fairly significant surge on the final day. Hopefully this will be enough to counter balance the fake pledges and withdrawals.

I went from £20 to £150.

Im intrigued by this "The Elite" club thingy :P

That's some costly intrigue you're paying for there!

I take everyone's point re it being worth more than £20 (and I'm just tight :P ) but my point was more the higher tiers beyond what you'd expect to pay for a game (£40?) plus an expansion pack or 2 (another £40?).

I guess beta or whatever access is worth more to some people but I've always been in the camp of letting others figure out the bugs and I'll wait to play the finished product - don't have enough time these days to play unfinished games.

Currently projected to reach 101% of its funding goal. Pretty tight! I guess if its 99% on the final day a lot will upgrade their pledge to get it over the finish line.

two days ago it was 98%. I dont trust that thing quite frankly, its going to make it and with some room to spare.

Getting sooo close.

Genuinely amazed its breached the 1m mark I thought it would run out of fanbase and new interest by the 900K mark tops.

6 days... gonna need some significant cash injections...

Do we know how much has been contributed via paypal? (presumably theyll just add that on I guess?)

Paypal can only be used for stretch goals unless they can find away of injecting it into the KS and from what I can gather Paypal is a tiny fraction of the overall amount raised

Well this is actually looking a bit more promising now :) I didn't think it was going to get much over 900k a while back. Still a lot of money needs to be pledged and not many days left now but I'm hoping people will up their pledges and help get it over the finish line. I will certainly be upping mine before the end. Fingers crossed as I'd love a new elite game.

I'm curious to know what the minimum specifications will be, when they are announced. It's possible there are quite a few people who would come out of gaming retirement to play Elite: Dangerous, who haven't invested in their computer as a gaming rig.

It's for certain that Overclockers are going to put together a themed PC just for this game. I can see AMD Eyefinity featuring in that package. I guess you could just play Elite: Dangerous with a keyboard and mouse, but you'd really want a joystick, a modular keyboard and perhaps a gameboard. A keyboard overlay might also be useful. Am I right in thinking that the BBC model B had an idiot card to slot in above the F-keys behind a strip of clear plastic ?

From the sound of it, it will scale to older hardware fairly well but IMO to really get the best out of it you will need some reasonably modern hardware.

I'm not sure how they could really port this to consoles. There will be just too many buttons to press. You need a keyboard, surely ?

Perhaps when the developers hint at other platforms, they are alluding Mac and Linux platforms, but who knows what gaming hardware is going to pop up this year ?
