The moment you realise you have enough for that A rated power plant for the python..... You realise you still need another 10mil on top for insurance and cargo :(

Got my Clipper. She is awesome in most ways. My only two issues so far are that the hardpoint placement basically forces gimbals, and the vertical thrusters are awful. She'll pitch, roll, strafe nicely, boosts pretty much forever, but those thrusters did lead to me having a few bumps at first - more so than in my Type 7! :p

Also, the discount is universal. Even if you didn't participate in the goal, you can buy the Clipper from Nu for just shy of 16m credits. :)

I spent 2 solid days exploring and found another Earth like planet (which made me turnaround) The bottom of the galaxy is getting quite researched now and it was hard going trying to find some unexplored territory. After I have killed GTA V, I will be back out into the depths :D

Decided to switch back to my Vulture for a bit, but am already bored to tears.
I enjoy the nippy zooming around, but I really prefer my Asp..
Played alongside a couple of friends the other night (Viper and Cobra) while they got stuck in, but they were getting hammered by an Anaconda - My Asp steps in to help and basically goes up to punch the Anaconda in the face until it died... something very enjoyable about being the biggest hitter on the battlefield like that!!

Only downside was when I wasn't paying attention and clipped one of the many cops that were swarming around, so had to dash at that point!

Well, I got my Asp and still have a few million left in the bank! Not fully upgraded it but got the important bits. (A rated power, and distribution)

Just need to work out the ideal loadout as I've read bits about using smaller shield modules and what have you.

I tried 2 pulse lasers and 4 multi-cannons which is all kinds of fun, but I think I should go for 4 pulse and 2 multi-cannon as the power draw barely dropped with just 2 lasers.

Decisions, decisions....

(Oh and I love the sound it makes!)

A friend and I just flew to an Anarchy system near Sorbago to get some kills at a RES there, but when we got there, there were security vessels from one of the factions there. They were instantly red to us before we had attacked anything so we just had like an hour battle with loads of them..didn't get a single bounty lol. They were under civil unrest in the factions tab but we don't know fully what that meant/entails. So much fun though :D

Any ideas guys?

Also, anyone getting tired of getting kills nicked in RES's etc? People keep an eye on my targets and nip in at the last moment, I've lost count of how many 'condas that have been poached from me in the last three days! Grrrrr

If you plan on RES farming just log back in solo.

There's too much money at stake to mess around with 4 or 5 other guys stealing your kills.

As soon as you have finished, just go back to open play.

Only took me one session with some ***** boosting in and taking the last couple of % off a master anaconda for me to decide this was the best way forward.

Just read 4/5 'beginners guides' produced over last 6 months and all recommended different 'best' ways to make good money when first starting out...

Just wondering if any consensus on current ways to make good progress after the Wings patch?

Mining, bounty hunting and bulleting board missions (mainly courier ones/the ones where you get given the cargo rather than having to buy it), when you start out in the Sidewinder. It's a shame there's no second slot because I would love to experiment around the starter systems seeing how quickly I can get from Sidewinder to, say, Asp. :p

Had a weird issue last night where Elite wouldn't recognise my X55, it took me ages to work out it didn't like it when my wireless adapter for my headphones was plugged in to my new keyboard!

Once I sorted that I logged in to the game where I was sat at a RES from the last time I logged off and couldn't see a thing, I mean complete darkness except for some laser fire in the distance. I logged off and back in a couple of times to the same thing. Only when I started to move around did I realise the planet had eclipsed the star!:o

Once you make enough to get a Viper with a few toys, shoot wanted craft at Nav beacons.

Once you have a few more toys for the Viper, move to Resource Extraction sites.
Shoot more wanted.

Then you'll have pennies :)
