Thanks itchy.....is there any descriptions to go with that, struggling to work out what all the numbers mean ?

max/supply and the numbers in brackets on the sell column

To be fair that's pretty much what I'm thinking. That or strip out the Asp for an exploration run to the centre of the Galaxy

I got my Anaconda and then started explorations :D In fairness, I did hit trading very hard and after getting the Conda, I couldn't stand doing more trading, so exploring and combat plus community goals have been great.

You are only allocated a certain amount per person so.

Max means the most you can get if you sit in the station all day waiting for resupply every 10 min.

Supply is the amount that will be available every 10 min.

For example

Fujin Tea Max: 17t Supply: 1-15t

The most you will ever get is 17t and the most you will get within 10min is 15t. So for full supply you would have to wait at station for 20 min and even then you might only get 10t then 3t and so on.

Hope you get on what am saying! :p

Quick edit:

Also you can miss some stops if they illegal watch out for this and also look out for the number of light seconds it takes to get there. If it too long I skip it and jump to the next system on the list.

It works like a charm I made about 10mill doing it 2 times and missing a few stops.

TIP: Leave onion head out in Kappa Fornicas, that **** will get you pinched everywhere! ;)

I've been playing solo mode, as I've not wanted to mix in pvp - I guess if I got the Anaconda people would leave me alone :)

So I can either spend a week out in the Galactic centre and get my Elite exploration rank (trailblazer right now) or go and trade up to an Anaconda and do the same.

Hmmm....

People do tend to leave you alone but a decent kitted ship can still take down a Conda easily, as they are a little slow. I have been interdicted a few times by players and more so with players in wings. I am pretty much geared up to the hilt though and can take some decent damage and take the odd player down, albeit I suck at combat.

OK so I got myself Elite Dangerous ...and lol...have noooo clue what I'm doing ,lucky though I do have an XBOX controller which is nice to use :)

Yes! It's a brutal learning curve! Best thing you can do is to look up individual "issues" on YouTube for guides/tutorials. eg: Do a trade run etc...

So there's you just starting... and there's me just finishing :) At the moment there's nothing in the game that particularly interests me now; All too thin/shallow and TBH unchallenging!

I have a horrible feeling this months big upgrate (V1.3 Powerplay) isn't going to add much either to remedy this :(

Do the tutorials, you'll not have a clue which key to press but don't worry. Just look them up as you need to and repeat the lessons a few times until you are comfortable.

Then jump in your Sidewinder, nervously poke your head out of the mailslot and fly around a bit.

Then come back on here and ask where to go next.

Answer: look on the bulletin board for missions.

Having gone through this just a week ago, I would strongly suggest watching youtube video tutorials first. The in-game tutorials are truly woeful, I mean practically useless (unless their intent was to make me scream every profanity I could think of at my monitor).

Then, run through the key bindings in controls and write them all down (remap if wanted)

Then, you may just stand a chance of doing some ED tutorials without a coronary...

I took the plunge and bought last week. It was painstakingly slow to begin with, trading bauxite seemed to be the way until I could buy higher value goods.

Which make me wonder if buying a hauler is the right move? I can make tonnes more money in my sidewinder transporting gold and pallium (or whatever its called).

Also pirate interdictions? I take it they're mostly NPC?

Depends where you are.
You're more likely to be interdicted by a player in and around the systems everyone starts in, as they're more populated. On your radar, live players show up as hollow shapes (triangles if their weapons are out, rectangles for not) whereas NPCs have solid shapes.

Also, they're not just pirates.

You'll get interdicted more if you're carrying valuable cargo (pirates) or have been a bad boy and gotten a fine/bounty on your head (Cops, Bounty Hunters).
You're also more likely to be interdicted by both NPC pirates and NPC Cops if you're carrying valuable cargo that doesn't belong to you... but any player with a cargo scanner or Kill-Warrant Scanner may be on you for the same reasons!

The new Powerplay will mean that some people may just have at you because you're friends with the opposing side...

I wouldn't bother with trading since a few updates ago but if you really want to do trading, get a good FSD Drive in your hauler and scroll up in this thread (not too far) for a rares route
