No worries!

Have fun, and don't be afraid to try different weapon combinations until you find one which best fits your play-style.

7,504LY out from Sol now and the sky is very different:

I really do need to stop mapping so many systems if I ever want to reach the centre. I'm doing approximately 30 systems per 1000LY so I've hit about 220 ish so far, not mapped every one and some have had very little in them but it really takes time. I should just scoop, scan and skedaddle but I'm just too curious :D

Wanted the Python back anyway - So picked it up with the 16% discount @ Zaonce.
No point selling / rebuying the anaconda tho as it already had 10% off :)

Now just another 100 mill to kit it!

anyone done exploring in a cobra?

I went 1500LY off in my Viper with a much smaller fuel tank and only hit a couple of fuel panic hiccups so a Cobra would be fine I think, I hated the Cobra when I had it which is why I went back to a Viper soon after buying one. I've just done around 600Ly in a Sidewinder too getting myself trained into using the Saitek X55 before I wreck my Vulture using it :p Bought a Sidewinder to practice on as it would be cheap to replace....

Exploring is defaintly better in the ASP, better jump range, and fuel and you it's a multi purpose ship ie. fighting and trading and exploring.

I'm working up to my second journey and I think the Cobra is the ship I will end up choosing. It's not got the best jump range, not the best cockpit views, not really the common choice. But it seems like it would be fun with this build:

Certainly not a bad jump range there. You could even do it in an Eagle or Vulture if you wanted, though you'll be making many more jumps and a hell of a lot of scooping:

I'm not really one for exploring myself but I would add a field maintenance unit to your load out, you know...just in case you jump to close to a binary (or meet thargoids :p)

Is it worth moving from a Type-9 to an Anaconda? I mainly trade so the Type-9 is probably the better tool for it. I have a few other ships including a Vulture and Python (just purchased via the Zaonce Jet Gang Community Goal discount), so I do have other ships I can use for combat. I should point out that the Anaconda is also discounted (or was) to 120 Million Cr. so it would cost around 30 Million Cr. to make the change (and then a lot more to kit out the Anaconda).

In my opinion... Get the 'conda.
I got the T9, traded between 2 stations until I had enough for the conda.

It can TURN!
It can go at a reasonable speed!
It can jump a decent distance!

But if purely for making pennies and you have a good route with the T9, might not be worthwhile.
I found it great though.

That's my Anaconda loadout and it works a treat, you actually make more money because of the attributes Fizz stated, its faster, jumps further and can actually defend itself

I'm now thinking of going to Zaonce sell my current one and get the 16% discount, I know it will only be 6% in reality due to the 10% loss but the insurance costs will be the full 16% less

Thanks to the community goal in Zaonce, I made enough money to buy and outfit a Python (especially thanks to the discount) and I am absolutely loving it. It's not as fast as the Clipper, but definitely more responsive in terms of thrusters, and the extra shielding and firepower, in addition to cargo capacity, is just fantastic. :)

You'll miss the Clipper's speed. I do. Can't believe I missed the CG in Zaonce. I could do with the extra dosh! Any good ones coming up/in progress?
