Due to a stuipidly fortunate piece of luck... I tried to click on a nebula and missed... I found a part of the Galaxy ripe with black holes :)

I'm on the way there but the blasted navigation is a right pain. I'm 3,500LY out from it and trying to get there, jump a 1000LY and find I'm barely closer :( I know to take the 3D bit into account but it'sd very hard to judge where to head towards if you can only route 1000LY at a go.

so whats this like i need a new game to fill my time? i thought it was single player like the X games.

is it multiplayer? and is that a coop or you spawn and get ganked by all the high level players multiplayer?

are black holes good? :p

Well it can be all or none of those things.......

Ive got nearly 100 hours logged and most of that has been in Solo play, so although the world you play in is affected by the economies and trading of real players , there are only ever NPC's to deal with.

Ive just switched to playing in the Open World that is populated by other players after having my first experience of playing with a buddy on Sunday. We formed a 'wing' and went out together killing stuff. Again we only really come up against NPC's in the area we were....but was so much fun.

So as for ganking.......ive not experienced it myself as yet, but only having 4 or 5 hours in the real mmo world probably not the best to pass to judgement.

But as for the game....its the first time, ever , I have truly understood what makes mmo's and rpg's so popular.

I cannot get enough of it , and still feel like ive barely touched the surface.

Went for the Anaconda :) It's actually only around 20 tonnes or so down on the way I had my Type-9 configured and is so much better to fly. All in all pretty happy, and I suppose on discount at 120 million Cr. it was a bit of a steal.

Cool so is it best to start in sp get a good ship then hop into mp with that?

Many of you guys play together?

I need something to fill the time atm lol

What are these community goals guys ? Is there info on the ED site I've missed ? Is it just ship discounts they get you ?

You find them in the news section when docked at a station. It can be difficult to distinguish them from the normal "noise" sometimes but if you read them it will be clear its a CG

I just signed up for one in Quivira to help out a struggling faction being hassled by the empire.
Tried it in open first, what a mistaka to maka! So many player that getting a kill in the conflict zone was near impossible then someone made a comment about being brave being in there in a vulture because of friendly fire, I replied saying my shields were strong so I should be fine, I then clipped another player while fighting and the whole server turned on me!

Went back to solo, not because I was killed but because I was not getting a single kill with the other bigger ships

I have had this game for a little while and to be honest I probably would have been better getting something with a little more going on , it all seems a bit empty to me ....stars look ok though :)

:mad::mad::mad:

But, yeah, it's probably easier that way because you avoid some of the nutcases who enjoy taking out beginner Sidewinders just for giggles. Learning the ropes with NPCs allows you to take a much calmer approach and get to grips with flying and such before you get player interaction. However, you could also try the PvE group Mobius, which is probably the largest private group and has lots of helpful people in it. Just don't leave it too long if you plan to move to open play at some point, as having a big ship but not really knowing how to defend against/escape from another player can be a bit of a pain. :p

I spent most of last night hanging around Eravate in this thing:

Interdicting beginner Sidewinders and dropping them 1T of gold. Or at least, that was the plan. I managed to give away 4T after interdicting eight players so far. The other half just ran, never stopped, never responded to my kind messages. Taught some how to scoop, was kinda cute. Ended up with 1500cr in fines for interdiction so far, and a canopy that's heavily cracked. Being charitable in this galaxy is hard. :(

Tefal if you poke Max, Ratz and a few others on the PAGAN Teamspeak server they're occassionally in Elite : Dangerous in groups, usually dying horribly (don't tell them I said this).

Dont' need to join us to use TS, it's just a nice way of getting advice and meeting up in-game for shenanigans tbh. I need to get back into the game, not played for a few weeks.

Bought a Anoconda the other day, just trade spec with A drive.

Sold the Anoconda and bought a sidewinder,

Sold the sidewinder and bought another Anoconda

Even with 10% loss, still made 8 million in the sale at Zaonce :) so that was about 24 million in approx 3hrs play last night :)

Sorry, you're saying you're selling an Anaconda for more than you bought it for?

Nope, he bought a 'conda at full price.
Went to Zaonce, sold the full price 'conda, bought one at 16% off.

Thereby netting 6% of an Anaconda in profit.

As I bought mine at Founders world, I'd lose pennies doing so.
But have a cheap Python :D

Once you get to the core then finding neutron stars/black holes won't be a problem; there's a giant cloud of at least 300 million of them (really, no kidding!) that stretches above and below most of the central bulge.

I'd heard that :)

I just wanted some of my own :D

It's actually kind of weird because I know I'm completely off the beaten path at the moment. If you draw a path straight from Sol to Sagittarius A about 10KLY in you take a 3.5KLY detour to the left and down. I'm in that bit somewhere.

I just flew through a section of proto-stars. I might have to pop back to map some if there aren't any where I'm headed (700LY off now)

I'm still doing the scoop, scan, skedaddle thing but once in a while I'll look at the system I'm in and map it. Still finding water worlds and terraform candidates. Earth like are very rare though.

Gawd knows how much I'm going to make from all this. It'll be at least a 60KLY trip by the time I get back.

So they're sellnig Anacondas at Zaonce for 16% off for some reason?

I made just over 147 million from my trip to the core, although I came back through the neutron star cloud and spent a good ten days or so farming them (scanned around 1,500 in total).

If you're heading for Sgr A* then I'd recommend a trip to the Great Annihilator on the way, second largest black hole in the Milky Way and well worth a visit! Not a large detour either, pretty much slap bang in the centre of the core.

What ship are you doing this in? How long do you have to travel to get into unexplored space?

Exploring is the only real thing that interests me, but I have zero interest in grinding out credits for an expensive ship first.

Yep, reward for the latest community goal.

Only takes 30 or so minutes to reach unexplored space, probably less if you avoid the usual travel routes.

All you need to explore is a fuel scoop and a discovery scanner. How many credits do you have at present? I'm sure we can spec you a ship to suit your budget :)
