Isnt it just a series of combat missions? So you cant really explore as such. I've been watching the videos and i do like what i see. The basic gameplay seems to be good (ie old skool Elite goodness)

It is but as an alpha I didnt expect this at all.... The AI is nearly there, only issues is that if you fly backward they dont get out of your way.

The sound fx are fantastic and visuals are better then I expected

Anaglyph rendering: old school Red/Cyan rendering for those without Oculus Rift or a 3D TV but with some vintage red/cyan glasses
Track IR Support added
Dashboard brightness option added
Improved build stability
Assorted improvements from Alpha feedback

Not tried it yet, but I don't think there's any new scenarios?

Not just an alpha build but a combat alpha - once they are happy that the design direction they've gone with for that aspect of the game is well recieved and/or tweaked as needed they will probably release alpha tests of different areas or a wider scope alpha.

This and its means I have a little more time to save up for a decent flight stick instead of using k/m.

I have just had an email from them "inviting" me to join the alpha for £200... yeh £200. They can **** right off. greedy barstewards.

Hold on let me get this straight.

The Beta access was £150 on the kickstarter and £200 for the Alpha.
Now on their site its £100. So to go from Beta to Alpha you have to pay £100, not £50.

Bit naff no?

I want to play this badly but I am just going to wait. From this vids I have seen it plays really nice and the sounds are ace. I love the ice effect on the windows. Really looking forward to release day!

Alpha is fun and visually stunning just limited at the moment with the single player scenarios that are available. All about to change though with the next update and multilayer combat to be in there. Anyone going for it fully recommend a HOTAS like the X52 Pro makes the game much more enjoyable.
