*** The Official Elite: Dangerous Thread ***

The game is boring end of and anybody that thinks "new planet rendering" is going to save the day is mistaken. There's hardly anything to find and how you make money is boring, all games are grindy but none are as boring as Elite, i hope it improves but cant see it for a good few years yet, probably around another 4 years.

I got more fun out of the Original game and Elite 2 back in the day tbh. Better graphics do not hide boring gameplay that was cutting edge 25 years ago or more but not in 2017.

Nobody said the new planet rending was going to save the day. If you don't like the game fine, everybody has different tastes and enjoys different things.

Elite & Frontier are more fun yet you can do infinitely less in them than ED… okay…

I have lots of fun flying in wings & helping out with PP so for me I would choose ED over Elite or Frontier every time.

Need a bit of advice please.

I've got a joy stick and a x-box controller coming to day so I want to start playing.

All I want to do is mine and land on the planets. What's the best way to achieve this as fast as possible?
Also do I need to start ED program or start with Frontier?

thanks

Let's face it, there's a lot wrong with elite dangerous. But it does do some things very well. And there aren't exactly an abundance of this type of game anymore :(

It's the best we have and I enjoy playing it in patches.

Maybe one day hell will freeze over, Satan will skate to work and star citizen will get released....

Ok so I amassed 30m and thought let me see how much it will cost to go to a Vulture.

Surprising not as expensive as thought!

And boy is it so much fun than my sluggish conda.

Any recommendations on load out for PVE/BH?

Tried two beam lasers which are useful for about 3 seconds of continuous fire.

Tried burst lasers which gave me a little more time but were meh.

Never tried plasma accelerators or other weapons before. Thoughts?

Also is the military composite just hull protection?

So I went a little nuts and have over 200 hours now in ED....140+ in the last 2 weeks alone XD

I am severely addicted, I even did a straight 24 hour grind going from rank zero to duke to simply get the cutter :D

I think to get the most out of the vulture you NEED to engineer the power plant. And just stick the biggest beamed lasers on it that you can.

It doesn't even need to be a high grade roll, just enough to alleviate the power issues, I have always used pulse lasers on mine, don't really like beams.

6 weeks 6 days 20 hours 44 minutes… 'ppose I better learn how to play the bloomin' thing properly then! :D

Here's some pretty pictures of the Thargoid trashed Lowell Class Science Vessel HDR-617 to distract from that number!…
