Picked this up a few weeks ago to play on my Vive and enjoying it so far.
Am finding the long travel times a bit of a bore though, just seems I spend most of my time travelling in a straight line doing nothing.
I'm liking the bounty hunting though.

I'm totally new to the whole franchise though, never played any thing like it before.

Is there a OcUK group I can join and get some pointers for what I'm actually meant to be doing

Stick some podcast or something on in background. It's the only thing that used to keep me in game for longer than a day or three
Or do a search for any of the ED radio stations.

Total noob I've only just found out you can set travel to fastest rather than economical, went from 77 jumps to 22.

Went to the Pleiades system because of all the alien talk.

How do you group up with other players though, would take days to find each other?

Lol, yeah i made that mistake when I first started playing.

You would have to tell a friend where you are, and either meet somewhere or one of you fly to the other, then just add each other to a wing in game.

Or someone can just join your ship if you have a ship with 2 or more seats inside.

Ah didn't know you could have 2 players in the same ship. What would the other player do? Do they have control over the weapons/piloting?

Well you can get weapons for your ship that can be controlled by your co pilot or if there is a fighter bay fitted to your ship they can fly the fighter when you go into combat.

you also get an extra pip for joining a ship and you don't have to be near each other it's a virtual you than joins their ship.

Ditto, I'm Neowave Interleave on steam. If anyone wants to go Xeno hunting more than up for that as I've never killed one - tried but my cutter got shredded… we only had missiles at the time tho iirc. If I attempted it again I'd probably go all multicannon… I'm also happy to go bounty hunting or conflict zone too.
