Crikey, what did you kill!? I'm not sure what controls the bounty amount but I had assumed it was a combination of the value of the ship and the elite rating of the pilot. Or did you kill a player, and that nets more?

I've never got more than about 200k for a single bounty. Noticeable though (and I've not worked out why) that the bounty listed in my external panel is always higher than the figure which comes up on the main screen when I make the kill.

just got a 3.5 million bounty :)

im seeing all sorts here, Type 9's, Anacondas, Vipers , Eagles etc

and no, its not against another player, I'm playing solo

I think it all depends on the contract, if there's a big bounty on his head, then you get more, just make sure you use the warrant scanner first :)

Im helping the "Earth Defence Fleet"

you get a "bounty kill " but you also get a "contract Kill" (see your transactions tab when in space), these need to be redeemed at the station, by going to contacts and then the relevant authority

Oh dear. I have a warrant scanner fitted. I have for weeks. Why do I suddenly get the feeling I've been failing to use it? :o

God I must have cost myself millions. I was just allowing the 'normal' scanner to complete, and if it showed 'wanted' I thought that was the warrant scanner working.

I blame the bewildering array of scanners that show up as separate modules in the game! I still haven't a clue what half of them do.

Anyway - the point of my post - Next to the community goal station on Alcor is a massive construction similar to a fleet carrier. Can't find any way to interact with it though. I assume it's related to the goal - but what is it?
Probably construction docks, there are installations that you can't interact with, this being one of those. It's always there.
I visited a system once now that does not have any stations, not sure if i was just outside the "bubble" or not, but pretty cool none the less :)

I've outfitted my Cobra to the max for combat, no cargo space what so ever, hanging around the Nav Beacon is quite lucrative for me as I'm in early stages still.

one kill last night netted me an "extra" 2.9 million ! thanks for the warrant scanner :D

There are unhabitated systems in the bubble as well.
Try compromised nav beacons and hazardous resource extraction sites as well for bounty hunting. Just be aware these are tougher.

haha, no you set it to a fire group

i use it on 2

so once in comat mode, theres 2 groups

1st group, scanners
2nd group, weapons

or just assign KWS to the same fire group as your weapons, and scan while you shoot ;) this is best for CNB or HazRes because it's easy to quickly find a target with wanted status via a basic scan.

If you do join a community goal, do make sure you sign up to it (on the mission screen) before actually doing anything. I've sold about 180 tons of coffee that I haven't got any credit for because I didn't realise this. Still, my chances of making it into the top 75% are slim with a small ship, so it makes no difference - I was still getting the money for selling it.

Haha, yeah, we've all made that mistake at least once!

The rewards for this CG are a joke anyway. You can make better money just doing normal trading, although I guess the low cost of the commodities involved means it's lower risk if you're worried about pirates.

For any newer players who haven't done "burning station" rescue missions, now's the time!

If you're a VR player, the first time you do one of these it will blow your mind.

Additional info/suggestions (skip these if you want to find out everything for yourself):
Bring heatsinks, passenger cabins, and optionally collector limpets and spare cargo space to collect escape pods and the like from inside the station.

Be careful not to do anything to get fined while inside the station (like abandoning limpets to free up cargo space, which will get you fined for littering), because the station's systems are broken and won't let you pay off the fine, so you won't be able to pick up passengers until you go and pay the fine at the nearby rescue megaship.

thanks for that :)

sounds interesting these Thargoid vessels.

Well, if i get killed, and i always by another now, as i got 21million from 1 mission last night in a wing, 2 quick runs to pick up 720 Cryolite and back :D

now got 65 million, so ill be getting a Python soon
